They drew 3.5 in 2010. As long as this isn't like a 90 loss team, it wouldn't surprise me if they did that this season.
It's a solid team, I think they could win 85-88 games if something disastrous doesn't happen. That's without any in-season moves of which there will definitely be several. How significant they'll be remains to be seen. But I think bounceback seasons from Billingsley and Ethier are to be expected.
Reports are that Frank really wanted Prince and that he hoping Fox and Time Warner go full blown wanting to buy the team outright to be certain about media rights. Feels that would get him over 1.5 billion and that is consistant with wanting Prince who along with Matt and Clayton would have given up 3 elite players 28 or under when until now we have none under how old? Hmmm other than Manny for a year who have we had elite at all. Seems like the Dodgers jumped in when it became clear that deep pocket bidders would be plentiful. Fox or TW plus may have said get Prince for the right price and we will factor it into the bid. Problem is that the contract Detroit gave isn't the right contract.
exactly they have to obscenely overpay to pry him away from us and like tuborg said was a bad contract
agreed we made a legitimate offer detroit made a superfluous one 9 years? enjoy that albatross in 2015 and beyond
I can't believe we were actually in on Fielder. It makes me happy to see that things are about to turn around, but I'm pissed that we didn't get him
I am not mad at all about not being able to get Fielder. I'm really excited that we actually went after him and made a good offer. It just further cements that the future is looking up.
the owner is in his 80s. he probably said "im gonna die, ill just go all in, i dont have to pay the bill anyways"
Leyland is so bad watching the WS and ALCS was brutal for me sure TLR won, but he made some very questionable calls and Ron Washington and Jim Leyland are freaking clueless
