DODGERS The TWC/SPECTRUM NIGHTMARE Thread

Spectrum must have hit a critical point with people unsubscribing due to them gouging every subscriber to cover their losses and the rise of streaming. I find whole thing is hysterical though.... Spectrum finally dropping their pants while GuGG's "Ingested" their checks and fought so hard to stay under the cap, only to have to eat shit and pay everyone this year with no game revenues coming in. Nice of them to furlough the stadium workers yesterday too, despite a 1MM mandated fund from the league to pay them.

***Yeah, Tony P's will now have the games on in their bar when the season starts, which is a good thing!

 

To paraphrase the great Vin.....It's timmmmmmmmme for indigestion.

 

I'd like to see some of the games from Vin's last season, as we missed it thanks to this fuckery.

Any Dodger fan who is fervent enough to know who Vin Scully is probably didn't miss games because of this fuckery.
The real fuckery was removing the Dodgers from the mainstream pop-culture consciousness.
In other words, people had to make a conscious decision to see the Dodgers (switch providers, use streams, VPNs, etc.)
They were invisible to casual fans, channel flippers, and patrons of bars and restaurants.
If this continued much longer the Dodgers would slowly become a niche product.
The checks would keep coming in but the mainstream popularity and ability to attract new fans would undoubtedly suffer.

Now that they finally restored mass distribution in the satellite/cable space, I expect Spectrum to shift their attention to streaming.
The Dodgers are one of only 3 teams in MLB whose rights-holder does not offer a companion app for streaming games outside the home.
I imagine this was because they didn't want people using their friend's cable credentials to view games without having to switch to Spectrum or pressuring their providers to pick up SNLA.

I've been a part of that group for 6 years, cancelled mlb.tv when the season was postponed (planned to renew for less when the shortened season is announced) and cancelled my VPN yesterday, felt awesome.

 

You don't need a specific package, Irish...but you just call and order the Direct TV BB package to whatever else you get. It's seperate from what ever else you get. At least mine is.
It will go until the last regular game of the season, not one second longer. And be prepared not not see at all/ see very little of any post game show.

 

Just ask for the minimum you have to get as long as you have the Dodger channel. If you already subscribe to streaming channels, keep DTV to a minimum.

 

Irish lives locally though, no? He shouldn't need the bb package. SNLA should be included already.

I just wanted to share my experience with DTV and their BB package offering.
Just that you could have minimum DTV and stll get the thing...

 

I tried ExpressVPN last season. It worked but it was spotty, sometimes it would just stop and i would have to contact support. Then i found these guys recommending Nord instead: https://www.anonymistic.com/mlb-tv-vpn-blackout-workaround/
It worked much better.

BTW, I have found the VPN to be annoying when forget to turn it off and can't browse Amazon and other sites.
