Like I wrote in another thread Joc is still unproven so Dre could still conceivably be a starter until he proves of some value to another team.

Which would be the equivalent of trading Kemp to create a starting spot for Dre in what isn't his natural position. Unless you leave Puig in center and Dre in right and rotate Puig in left and right etc. Isnt keeping Dre to start along with us paying 6 million for Kemp a chunk of over 20 million change really smart money? Joc will be in center and if he fails a lot of questions will be asked barring future moves.

Dre played CF and RF and was pretty good there in CF. CC, Puig, Dre against righties. SVS, Heisey and Puig against lefties.

Hope other fans will consider this progress and laying the foundation for a solid year and future as presented by Kasten.

The only reason I seem very hesitant to think dre is still here is because of the recent Stan interview I which he falsely claimed our system had not recently brought up talent through the farm and his desire to see that moving forward

Trading Dre doesn't automatically solve it either and IF Joc struggles we have at least one guy who can't hit lefties in the line-up and how well will that go with fans? As long as Yasiel plays the fans will be happy I think.

I wouldn't go that far. If we don't win big next year the fans will not be too happy and won't easily forget the dumping of kemp

I get that but the way Joc struggled albeit in very little at-bats there is still a possibility he could join such former Dodgers as Greg Brock, Billy Ashley et al. I just don't think they'll trade Dre until Joc proves something. EVERYONE is assuming Joc is going to be successful.

With our pitching and defense I think we will be better than last year, I really believe that and the division is ours to lose.

Hear that. Regardless we still have too many players and someone needs to go. The obvious ones have to be Arrubarrena and or Ethier. That said what is your opinion on how much it's going to cost to have Ethier play for another team? Cause judging by the little we got for kemp and the fortune we paid to send dee fishing I can't see us getting much of anything for Ethier.

100 wins? We had a good season last year. I believe the last few big winning teams had approx 88 wins and we surpassed that and still left empty handed.

The lasting memory of the 2014 for Dre was him being used sparingly so I don't think we can anything but a couple low level minor leaguers and pay 80% of his salary.

The Marlins do not think they’ll have to pay out the entire $325MM balance of Giancarlo Stanton‘s contract, Pirates president Frank Coonelly told a crowd (including the Tribune-Review’s Rob Biertempfel) at PirateFest Saturday. Speaking very candidly for a team president, Coonelly recalled a recent conversation with Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria and president David Samson: “They said to me, ‘You don’t understand. (Stanton) has an out clause after six years. Those first six years are only going to cost $107 million. After that, he’ll leave and play for somebody else. So, it’s not really $325 million.'

The team isn't going to win a World Series with Donnie Dum Dum at the helm.

Sure as long as it isn't the end of the year hitting Yasil.

Apparently it bothers CEO Stan Kasten that in the nearly three years his group has owned the Dodgers, not one player or pitcher drafted by the team has graduated from the minors to an everyday job with the major league club.

"Now you can see the beginning,” Kasten told The Times’ Bill Shaikin. “Joc Pederson would be the first, if he makes the team. We hope that will begin to be evident. That is the goal. That has always been the goal. But isn't it amazing, three years now, we still haven't had one?"
