Lol at one point last year, the majority of people here ( along with myself) wanted to sell high on Kemp after he rebuilt some of his value. i'm just one of the few who haven't changed their mind on the topic. Dodgers are an old team..the youth is ready and it's coming soon.

why wouldn't you wanna kick his ass if we traded him to San Diego? i'd hope he would never see a playoff game with the Padres. dude, Kemp will be just fine if we trade him..it's the same guy who used his agent to express interest in moving on during last season. cry for him?..the fuck i will not.

Honestly, other than like Tyson Ross and maybe a cheap reliever like Quackenbush, not much SD has interests me. It's not like Grandal is some defensive stud, dWAR is -0.7, he just runs into one every once in awhile.

Grandall isn't selling high. So yeah. We don't need young arms from Seattle either

if Grandal is the only guy coming back in return, i'll agree.

we don't need young arms from Seattle..right now. in a year, when Greinke opts out ( which he has said that he'll likely do), a Walker or Paxton would come in handy..probably one of the bigger reasons in their asking for those arms.

Greinke opting out means he's tryin to get big money in his age 36 and age 37 seasons at the least..which means he'll probably be gettin that money elsewhere.

If Grandall is the headliner, I don't care what else is thrown in. It's a bad deal.

Wow...the effect that Ned has on this team and will continue to have until his moves have been obliterated like some Trotsky type coup, is even more far reaching than it looked. Now, looking at those moves, the tangled web he weaved is almost choking...this all star FO has it's work cut out for them.
Why there's' still a place for Ned in it is mystifying...

Lester’s camp is waiting to see if a club will up its offer to the $150MM level and/or include a seventh year, whether guaranteed or through a vesting option, per a report from Sean McAdam of CSNNE.com. The bidding is believed to be sitting around $140MM over six years at present, McAdam adds.

Lester bleeding it. might as well.

I would be scared about the last 3-4 years on a Lester deal to be honest.

But I also know that Boras is gonna get an even better number for Max and that Lester is quite a large step ahead of Shields, McCarthy, etc.

even if he were a power hitting 1st baseman you'd have to be scared of a 7yr deal for a 31yr old. but the fact that it's an arm with heavy milage that we're talkin about..even scarier..that kinda shit has Jerry Dipoto written all over it.

5yrs/150M..i wouldn't go higher than that. and really, if it weren't for fucking up the future market in some ways..i'd like to go 4yrs/150M. Lol owners everywhere would go crazy.

it's a crapshoot, but definitely what the market will bear
but as bad as signing lester into his mid-to-late 30's could potentially be
i still like it a hell of a lot better than trading prospects for hamels
    so choose your poison :toxic:

it's kinda crazy how some don't trust that Joc will be a big league player, but then in the same vein they also don't want to trade him.

if you're all in on Kemp and Puig in CF..let Joc go. free Joc. it's not what i'd want them to do because this team is gettin old fast, but i'm just saying.

Cubs, Giants Are Finalists For Jon Lester
By Jeff Todd [December 8, 2014 at 3:39pm CST]
The Cubs and Giants have emerged as finalists to land Jon Lester, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports on Twitter. Rosenthal does caution that a late change in the bidding could shake things up. The other teams said to be amongst the last suitors for Lester are the Red Sox and Dodgers.

Hopefully we can add a quality starting pitcher for our triple A team to counter the Giants landing Lester.

i got the Cubs. well, that was my prediction from the start..before SFG got involved. but now i'm full on rooting for the Cubs. Lol i must.

    Hamels goes to Boston afterwards.

David Price is waiting very intently to see the years that Lester gets..gotdamnit..

Lester agent Seth Levinson says idea of Red Sox being out and Giants, Cubs currently finalists "absolutely untrue"

That lasted 4 minutes. So hope still exists...

3:45pm: Lester’s agent Seth Levinson denies that his client has whittled his list down to two finalists, tweets Rob Bradford of WEEI.com. The team has also said it has not been informed of any decision on its bid, per Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald (via Twitter).

3:39pm: Free agent starter Jon Lester is choosing between the Cubs and Giants, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports on Twitter. Rosenthal does caution that a late change in the bidding could shake things up.

Does Rosenthal ever get anything right? What a fucktard.
