    1. Blake Snell is elite. Worth every penny
    2. What an amazing play by Max and Mookie in the 9th
    3. That’s enough Blake Treinen for 2025. He has been awful for a while now and there have been no signs of things changing.
    4. A night to forget for Edman. An awful tag attempt, a bad throw in the 9th, and some really bad ABs.
    5. Thank you Will Smith
    6. Thank you Sasaki

love how he tries to spin in into it all being part of some master plan that worked out exactly as he wanted/expected
ready when called upon?… roki was ready to start the ninth and all you had to do was send him out there
we all understand that treinen has gotten some huge outs for us in the past
but he’s been shit this year and shouldn’t be marched out in high pressure situations based solely on his past accolades
    idiot

Dave’s worst quality is loyalty to guys due to performances in the long past.

yes, Treinen has had some amazing moments as a Dodger but none of those happened this season. Judge him for who he is now and that is an unreliable pitcher who can’t be trusted in any situation, let alone a save situation.

    • Phillies manager Rob Thomas has announced his team will start right-hander Aaron Nola over southpaw Ranger Suarez in Game 3 at Dodger Stadium. Nola is sporting a 6.01 ERA with 97 strikeouts across 94.1 innings pitched this season, as opposed to Suarez who has a 3.20 ERA with 151 strikeouts in 157.1 innings. In three of Nola’s starts in September, he gave up four or more earned runs. After losing the first two games of the NLDS at Citizens Bank Park, the Phillies will look to Nola to fend off a red, hot Dodgers lineup. Suarez will back Nola up in Game 3.

The tag was a bang-bang play. Hard to fault him there.

The throw was almost chokey (if that's a word). He threw Freddie a split finger. What a pick. Great play by Freddie to get the second out, too.

To quote the great Frank Costanza........."what were you thinking??" Only worse choice than Treinen would have been Scott. I could make a case for leaving Sheehan in. Obvious choice seemed to be Sasaki. Mild defense (very mild) of Treinen was that one hit was a seeing eye ground ball and the double was something Castellanos pulled out of his ass.

Master class in pitching by Luzardo and Snell. Loved how Snell bowed up and got out of the sixth. Miggy made things a bit more interesting than need be with his decision to go to the bag. Loved how Sheehan worked his way out of the 8th. Had to get Schwarber and Harper to escape after giving up a run. Huevos grande by the kid.

Great ABs by Teo and Freddie got Jesus the Lizard out of the game. Kike with the broken bat dribbler for RBI (the value of making contact). The Will Smith of the regular season showed his stuff with the two run single.

Got a baseball boner seeing them execute that wheel play. Can't recall the last time I saw that executed so well. Thanks to Edman for scaring the shit out of us with that Steve Sax imitation.

Coming out of Philly 2-0 obviously exceeded all of our expectations.

The best play of th night was, imo by far, the wheel play when Max went to third. Brilliant logistics. I almost said "that was a brilliant call Dave....nice D". Took the legs out from under the Phillies rally like a Claymore in Nam.
But it was Mookie who called it on the mound.
    Brilliant call, MOOKIE !

Hernriquez can be dominant. One game. And the next, be batting practice.
I think I like Wrobo if one of the useless ones are left off.
One thing I will predict, if we are to go further...we have definitely not seen the last of " loyalty before logic" ( Irish credit) from Dave before this series is over.
He is vying for Miss Congeniality.

I think that Emmet couldhave gone further...maybe it's just me. It certainly wouldn't be over extending him...a starter. I thought he had good command last night. Not the crap like the first game.
Snell/Sheehan ? Sounds fine to me...better than Treinen and Vesia.
I cringe when they are warming up. Vesia definitely helped a huge bit to get us here...but now it's a different crew for post. Maybe for the third out in an inning...but not three batters in a rally. NOPE.
Treinen's best days are behind him I think. If he's in there simply because he was great in the past, then that's really bad baseball thinking. It's the tyranny of Dave Roberts' synapse we must endure.
If that's a legit template, then start Kersh...because he's going to the HoF.

Baseball boner now replaces "primo fucktard" as my favorite two-word phrase on here.... well done, @fsudog21 ....

Suck it, Filly. Don't care how it happened ...just glad it did.
