it's cool. i question Donnie a ton myself, but because i saw the whole Kershaw ordeal as nobody's fault i got painted as a " Donnie apologist ". all i wanna do is get it right...if he's not to blame for somethin - let the man live.
LOL believe me, I understand the label. I have that one and apparently Hairston is my favorite player and League was my favorite pitcher. It's gonna take a year or two to wash those off.
Folks words just won't do. I was at the game last night and I have never experienced anything like that at ANY live sports event anywhere. My first game was a playoff game vs the Phils in 1997 and I've been to hundreds of games at Dodger stadium since. The best experience before last night was Fernando's no hitter but please understand...last night - words won't do. I was in the loge level and when Uribe hit it out the concrete underneath me was moving, shaking. I've never heard a crowd so loud at any game, ever. It was the most wonderful night ever. words just won't do.. GO DODGERS!

This season has been LONG. I can't believe the brawl in SD happened this season. I know some of the young guys will agree with me... ...the beginning of the season was "_____ quarters/semesters ago" ..."______ jobs ago" ...."I was still having sex with_____"....So much shit changes over the span of a baseball season. Like I said...can't believe the brawl was this season. Seems like an eternity. Might be the same for older people too. (Ford had a different knee when the season started)
I was at Opening Day this year, and that seems like eons ago. Also, I remember the depressing podcasts of Dodger Talk the first 2 months of the season.
I still have all the podcasts. The other day, my ipod was on shuffle...and the June 21st podcast came on. The day before it all changed.

Meh, not buying it. That may have been a target amount, but i doubt this was concrete because of various variables that can happen throughout a game. So if we were up 13-0 after 5. Kershaw would have still pitched 6 innings and called it a day? I mean it's predetermined right? Or if it was a 2-0 game and lets say he had 70 pitches through 6, he would have been gone no matter what? What if we were down 1 run or 2 runs? If this was agreed upon no matter what that he'd get yanked after 6 then you can't really argue that this was a smart move to begin with. You can't expect and base a game decision based on what we hit in a previous game. Different pitcher. Different circumstances, and different game. Now it's another thing to manage or make decisions based on trends, but ............. I supported the decision if you were looking at this as a do or die game. But if not, then it wasn't a good one. You don't do this if it's a do or die game and then put an innings limit on your ace that is apparently in because you don't want to go back to atl. Anyway, like i said i don't believe it, because i refuse to believe or organization is dumb enough to yank someone based on number of innings anyway. It's the last thing you plan to yank a pitcher for in advance. Pitchers are yanked based on variables in game(scores, injuries, situations) and of course PITCH COUNT. So yeah, i don't buy it.
One positive and a surprise for me was how well Puig hit this series. I was afraid he was figured out and destined to struggle against a good Braves staff in the postseason. I was wrong thankfully, he was a beast up there over all. He missed a huge HR this game by a foot or two and obviously hit and got on base quit often. He also ran the bases like a pro and a boss, and his fielding was ok with very few mistakes. I was one who was truly concerned that his mental mistakes would kill us and really his only misplay was erased by the epic Uribe blast. He more than made up for that mistake with his great series on base and at the dish. Thanks Puig and keep up the great work kid!
I tend to agree with you Ford. Puig made solid contact most times and had more than a couple hard outs. He hit .471 and lost that HR and a couple of other potential big hits. He struck out 4 times in 17 ABs which ain't great but not bad either. And he did get caught stealing but hey, the 1.029 OPS still brings a smile. And he prevented runners from advancing several times He also brought copious amounts of rookie enthusiasm to the dugout and clubhouse. One series down... two more to go...
yeah, pretty sure it was SVS. SVS was right next to Kemp in the dugout... and he's big enough to carry Kemp like that lol
