That shit in Pittsburgh is behind us, with three marks in the wrong column as a result. IDK what this does to a team when they have a BP like this, and a manager that is willing to sit there and watch it grow worse and worse until it becomes a record breaking joke, but it can't be a positive effect.
The pressure in the 7, 8, 9 th inning out there must be seriously heavy on their brains.
At least the Nats are struggling, too...so maybe we can win some.
I don't think teams are defeatist , even with Greinke and CK out there, when they know that most likely, they will be facing the worst BP in baseball eventually.
They know they can win pretty much from any deficit.

For a series where no ground was lost, you people sure complain a lot.

Kershaw and Greinke, last starts not withstanding, and not facing Mad Max, good opportunity to win a series.

2008 felt like we were the team of destiny. Phillies were too good.
2009 felt like the most complete roster we've had in a long time but we were an ace short.
2013 felt like the best team we've had in forever. All the elements were there to win the WS. Exciting team to watch, star studded and Puig infused. Hanley was a beast. We should've won it in 2013
2014 the defense was really crappy and our bullpen sucked. Kershaw choked.
2015. We will see. But I'm sick of being one element short. One lucky break short. One choke job short.

I feel like 2013 was the year. Didn't get it done.

Are you actually watching the games, or reading the paper the next morning?
Because the BP is very alarming. Fucking VERY. Are you kidding?
Depending on a four game sweep by the Cubs each time we shit the bed with the BP ( very often now) is a bit much...lucky ass bastards we were.
Oh, it's a bb website, also. Pretty much what they are for.

As much as the BP is going to kill us, I'm equally inscensed about Puig's utter collapse this season, especially on this current runs. Looks confused at the plate and outfield.

With Kemp gone and Joc taking CF duties, Puig should have soared. I miss the 2013 Puig...warts and all.

Look, I know this is the glass half full take, but we are in serious trouble if we can't fix this BP issue. Unless Latos and Wood suddenly become the second coming of Kershaw, we need the BP to step up on those days we have the backend of the rotation pitching. Nothing I've seen from Johnson suggests he's going to make a miraculous recovery. Peralta is just as lost.

It's not just about keeping pace, it's about fixing a really glaring problem right now.

For me, again I'll acknowledge the issues with the pen right now.

I'd also like to drop in that the bullpen more than anything is so volatile. Still 8-9(?) weeks before the playoffs...
