blf, yours is cool aside from the trade but you really overpriced some players

You should change it to take away the trade, lower the money on most of the FA contracts, and use that saved money on a starter

And VRP, I can't believe you made it up without having Francis.

The same Mark Ellis who had a -0.4 oWar in 233 PA with Oakland?
And then only 0.1 oWar in 286 PA with Colorado where conventional infield popups become homeruns?

I disagree. Here's my logic behind it.

    A) It shows Kersha love. Shows him that you want him to pitch in LA for the long-haul and want him to be a Dodger forever.
    B) I don't think at all that you overpay for Kershaw at all. Hell, it might actually save a couple million. A $13.3M average is legit for his arb years.

yes, he has a lot of things wrong in his, but so do you
whats his face is not leaving the white sox, he is the face of the team basically and if he leaves its because he is getting too good of a contract to stay
it would have to be a deal that the sox would think is too much
you think he wouldnt give them a chance to match any offer?
by all accounts he is a favorite and he loves it there
    so that makes little sense

i agree with you on the problems with the other post though
any deal involving pujols is a stretch
i think deep down most people know he isnt going anywhere
this is like when kobe went around to the clippers and the bulls getting his ego stroked and making sure that the lakers paid him every single cent that he felt he deserved

this is the modern sports way of saying you dont want to give your team a hometown discount without making it sound like you are pushing for more money
pujols knows he can only get away with this stuff for so long before the fans start to turn on him
but he has enough time to put pressure on the cardinals to up their offer to what the market price would be if pujols signed with some desperate team who needed to make a big splash overpaying for a superstar
it happens all the time, desperate teams reach for this aging superstar and way overpay him
but if the team needs to keep that player because that guy is the face of the franchise and its leader and best player and they also want to keep the championship run going... then they are going to pay what some random desperate team might pay in order to just keep things moving

thats why championship teams usually lose a few key guys
their perceived value rises to levels that are over what they should actually be worth
teams then have to either overpay them to stay, or watch them leave

this FA dance is just a way to get that message across to the fans in order to put pressure on the owners without coming off like greedy spoiled athletes, even though they probably are

Eh, I duno. It looks like your approach was to blow up the team and start from scratch. I took the existing team and added what I believe were the missing pieces. I fully believe that the Doyers were only a Prince Fielder away from contending.
