Absolutely not. Ethier needs to start every single game vs RHP. He's substantially better than Crawford (and Kemp) vs RHP.

Ethier is due for one of his classic "unstoppable 2 week streak" where he raises his average by 30 points and gets 20% of his year HR production.

He's been Hanley/Puig hot in the 2nd half, and one of the hottest hitters in the game in the 2nd half. Hopefully it rolls into September to make up for the first part of the year, but I mean, he's been hot as hell. Just gets a bit more overshadowed b/c before when he'd go on his hot streaks there weren't two other players just as hot AND he was hitting higher in the order to bring more people in.

Of course, all this Ethier talk means he hits like SHIT in the next days lol but yeah, a Center Fielder playing average defense (not to mention that thats better than usual defense we get in CF) being a top hitter the pat two months is far from the biggest issue we have, and is far from having him be the odd man out.

Now, if he struggles and Kemp comes in and rakes, I'll be out here saying the playing time needs to change but as of right now based on not only this year but careers, Ethier should be starting vs. righties all the time, every day. and vs. lefties, if it's between him and Crawford it's a toss up really.

Ethier's high production over the past couple months shocks me. I'm shocked his OPS is that high. I must miss the HRs and doubles. All I see is singles and his terrible bat speed. I have no confidence in him. Maybe it's because I remember he used to be better. Idk.

His playing time might be limited though so that is going to cut into his at-bats and lack of at-bats affects performance.

I think thats what it is. But yeah, looking up the stats kinda shocked me too, he's been real good. He's been getting on base a LOT and although the home runs aren't coming, the doubles are. Heres another fun doubles stat for Andre (from truebluela): Andre Ethier's 238 doubles from 2007-2013 are most ever by a Dodger in a 7-year span, surpassing Dixie Walker's 237 (1940-1946)

But yeah, he's been REAL good the past two months, underrated good, especially when you consider it's coming from a premier position in CF.

And what I'm arguing is that against righties he shouldn't have any limited playing time.

The power is down about 50 points in SLG than what we're used to, but the OBP is up a tick, while his BABIP is well below his career averages. He's also much improved as a defensive player.

If it wasn't for the fact that Gonzalez has been extremely productive in clutch situations (which I value a little, not nearly as much you guys) I'd argue that Ethier is having a better season than Gonzalez.

I'd be mad if I were the Dodgers. They lose a lot of money because it's a getaway day for the Cubs. The Dodgers had to play a night game in Toronto and come back to play the following night among other ridiculous scheduling issues. Now they have to accommodate the Cubs? Shouldn't be our problem. We have an off day and another home series.

Yeah, it seems like this year more than most I've seen more bullshit scheduling for us than the past. I'm not going to get into a conspiracy theory or anything but I mean we have a 1 PM home game, off day tomorrow, and friday night game but couldn't get off days when traveling coast to coast? Don't get it.

We should mass produce life-sized Magic Johnson blow up dolls and put them in all the empty seats during day games

I said that the other day and didn't get as much shit as I expected. I think Ryu MIGHT be better, but I think Nolasco has a lower chance of blowing up.
