Like this guy. Horton-Tucker's teammate in high school @ Chicago powerhouse Simeon. Lakers signed him to a 2-way contract. Give this lefty a shot over paying DLo $20M+. He's 22, so closer to being ready to play
Ralph Mason@Ralph_MasonJr Hard pass on DLO for the Lakers Ralph Mason@Ralph_MasonJr FWIW I think the interest is more on DLO's (agent) side than the Lakers. He's running out of suitors with cap space ..as he should. Who tries to sneak weed onto a plane, in a soft drink stash compartment? Only a true jackass
He’s the best reporter in the business still, he broke the biggest deal of the offseason already. He’s just a pile of shit at the analyst part of his job
Arye Abraham@arye_abraham I’m told that the Lakers pursuit of unloading contracts of Wagner, Bonga, and Jones isn’t ONLY to create a max slot. It is to maximize the amount of cap space to pursue free agents, sources say Should keep them in play for a guy like Horford. A grown up.
And out of the loop on LAL. He's still the most noteworthy reporter, and the biggest deal of the offseason was Laker news that he broke, but Griffin put that in his hands. After all his conjecture, he'd better pray LAL doesn't sign Kawhi.
LAL looking at Deandre Jordan again. He might be had for the room exception worth about $5M Seeing a lot of LAL interest in centers. They clearly don't want to run AD into the ground at the 5. All good, so long as Javale McGee has played his last game as a Laker Cris Carter says LAL is still firmly in line for a sit down with Kawhi
After the ring in Toronto if Kawhi comes to the Lakers and joins LeBron and AD he becomes the top dog and LeBron and AD become his supporting cast? Kawhi is the board mans Jordan to LeBron's big Pippen with AD as super Ho Grant, Kuzma as Kukoc and Caruso as Kerr/Paxson. Darren Collison could come cheap as the BJ Armstrong type for the team. And Deandre Jordan or Kenneth Faried or Paul Millsap on the cheap to fill the rebound/defense Rodman-lite role. Add some big stiff cheap centers off the bench to soak up fouls. Longley types like Bogut. PG: Collison, Caruso SG: Kawhi, Caruso SF: LeBron, Kuzma PF: Davis, Kuzma C : Deandre, Bogut
ShowtimeForum@ShowtimeForum "I will tell you this. Damon Jones is as plugged in to the biggest source in basketball as you could be. Better than Woj, better than all of them. If he says that he hears Kawhi is in play for the Lakers then there's some truth to that." via Raja Bell on @kanellandbell
LAL lands both AD and Kawhi - Popovich's worst nightmare come true. Nerlens Noel (vet min), Tyson Chandler (vet min), Johnathan Williams (2-way) Anthony Davis (max), Kyle Kuzma (rook), Jeff Green (vet min) LeBron James (max), Kyle Korver (vet min), Nik Stauskas (vet min) Kawhi Leonard (max), Avery Bradley (vet min), Zach Norvell Jr. (2-way), Talen Horton-Tucker (rook) Alex Caruso (2-way), Cory Joseph (RMLE), Trey Burke (vet min) Probably the most realistic group if Kawhi lands. Joseph could fill in if Caruso falters, play solid D and cut/shoot/play off the ball offensively, played with Kawhi in San Antonio, knows his role. May or may not need Avery Bradley to rebound and rejuvenate himself. Kuz = energy/instant offense off the bench, both Kuz and Green would probably play more than old man Korver, at least until the playoffs, unless they're in dire need of Korver's shooting at points within the reg-season. If Bradley falters, Caruso or Joseph move into that rotation spot and Burke takes backup PG. Noel's offense is forgettable, but could actually be a plus with this Big 3..he's a monster defensively though, would give LAL 2 long bodies @ center that are athletic/switchable on defense, finally played nearly 80 reg-season games last season, Klutch client. Championship, probably..need some luck, health-wise, like every other team.
Lakers given permission to talk to GS assistant coach Rob Adams. Looks like they want a really experienced staff around Vogel
Ron Adams.....defensive guru and former Fresno St head coach. Shitty head coach, but a great assistant.
Voted best assistant in the NBA 4 years running Hiring Adams would cap an amazing overhaul of the staff, upgrades all around
Legend has it that Adams helped Tark develop his famous Amoeba defense. Tark's teams were known for run and gun, but they could defend.
AD rumored to wear #14 for LAL? LAL replacing #14 Brandon Ingram with #14 Anthony Davis, and #2 Lonzo Ball with #2 Kawhi Leonard? Trollolololoooo
Summer League roster filling up fast, and without Bonga/Wagner/Jemerrio Jones. They're probably about to traded within the next couple days
Marc Stein@TheSteinLine The Nets are exploring the feasibility of signing Kevin Durant's close friend DeAndre Jordan in free agency, league sources say, in hopes that would make the prospect of teaming up in Brooklyn with Kyrie Irving even more enticing to Durant ShowtimeForum@ShowtimeForum "I think there's a decent chance this [Ron Adams joining Lakers staff] is going to happen. I think there was a feel that Ron was going to move on this summer, whether to the Lakers or somewhere else this summer. I think I heard that during the finals.” @WindhorstESPN Podcast
