Black is a role player. He's fine in his role. Hibbert was supposed to be good. Maybe not when the Lakers had him, but before that. Hibbert sucks. The biggest part of managing is managing expectations.
Yeah we definitely got Hibbert at the tail end of his performance curve and he sucked. Past tense I hope because he should have retired before last year and he certainly shouldn't be playing in the NBA this year. And yeah Black is a role player.. with brick shooting touch.. so even as a role player he still sucks. My expectations were never so high on either one So I'm managing well enough
My expectations for the Lakers next year however are quite the contrary Now that the Kobe tribute year is behind us the four or five youngsters NEED to gel early and prove that they can bring 'some' form of Showtime back to the Lakers Cuz I'm damned tired of Clipper bandwagoneers crowing about how good they are simply by virtue of us sucking No rings means no rings but I'm not in the mood for the Lakers to go on a Dodgers style dry streak Ain't no way to manage that
I think the lakers are going to suck again this year, but they should be more fun to watch. If they win 30 games, I'll be pleasantly surprised.
I think that 30 games is selling them short They're not all rookies anymore. Some are already showing their oats They could gel and get downright jiggy
a 7 footer that can hit 3's?? I can get behind that... so long as he's not a flopping Vlade in the lane
Should be a surprise for those LAL fans that wanna " start Nance because he fits better with Moz. " Shooting 3's there, but he's been able to knock down the 18-20 footer for a few years now. This guy works incredibly hard, didn't have any of this shit on NBA arrival. If his knee is right, and it looked fine with the Russian national team, he's gonna do just fine and be hyped like the usual surprise LAL addition. But yeah, Randle will have plenty of room to boss whichever unfortunate soul is tasked with defending him in the post/mid-post. Randle is just a bruiser, was taking it to Green and a few others @ Team USA camp, gonna be an excellent player if gains more a feel for passing in the half court.
Randall is a beast We just have to learn who in the NBA is going to be his bkitch. These Lakers kids could turn out to be something if they mesh well
I just want to see the defense tighten up to the point where they are at the top half of the league instead of almost dead last. That is the key for this team to have any chance of getting anywhere in the near future. I saw what plays they plan on running, but they have some execution problems. But I also think we are turning a corner. We have alot of talent on the team and it should be fun.
Lol moz hitting threes like he's shooting free throws. I guess if he has time to set for a few seconds and has nobody within 5 feet he can hit them.
I think that's true of almost any decent basketball player. Some of the guys from the end of the bench on the team where I went to college (Arizona) used to run at the same gym where I played during the summer. All of them could rain threes all day long playing against guys like us. Put them in a real game against real players that could defend and those guys turned into total crap. They couldn't hit shit in real games.
Numerous current and former NBA players have supported Colin Kaepernick’s national-anthem protest. But, as far as I’ve seen, none had openly discussed sitting or kneeling themselves before the Star Spangled Banner. Until Lakers guard Nick Young. Young on Kaepernick’s kneeling, via TMZ: I would do the same thing. So, he’ll kneel during the anthem? Young: Nah, my knees hurt. But I might sit. Yeah Nick whatever you say sport You might as well be sitting at home for all of your value to the Lakers
