Howard jumped the shark a few years ago.

Interviews are still pretty good, but the show's lost its old edge. Way too PC.

used to listen to him on the drive in to work
haven't listened to him in over 20 years
happy for him that he got the american idol gig
but for that [i'm sure] he had to sell a bit of his soul... i.e broadcasting persona
goes to show just about anyone can be tamed with $$$

i loved him for about 6 years and dude had integrity to burn back then
i turned my back on him when he went soft on people he had been abusing
it was either hosie o'donnell or some other loud mouth bitch
but he had been on her for years and then one day she came in and he kissed her ass
i lost a massive amount of respect for him that day
but absolutely one of the quickest minds and best interviewers ever
there are guys that give him a run for his money but no one ever came close to stern imo
regardless of jackie and fred and everyone else feeding him takes
the guy was sharp as a whip and had hysterical observations

    PG: Jason Kidd
    SG: James Harden
    SF: Scottie Pippen
    PF: Danny Manning
    C : Marc Gasol

With a bench of Derek Harper, Kurt Rambis and Malik Rose.

That should be the Lakers team in a few years. Once they draft Ball and move Russell to SG.
Of course that is if they all pan out to their potential.

I'm all in on the tank, but at least make an honest effort.

The players should be embarrassed, but it's obvious they're just playing for stats and a paycheck and some of that goes on Walton as well. How in the fuck do you give up 122 pts to the worst scoring team in the league??? Easy........you don't give a fuck and you have no pride. They started the year with promise and have gotten progressively worse.

These fuckers don't deserve to be Lakers.

How are you all in for the tank at this point, but then also want them to start playing better defense?

I understand the need for the tank, but I hate the effort being made in getting there.

It doesn't foretell well for the future.

Just sayin, the two don't really go together at this point.
Plus Dallas, shitty record and all, are just 2 games out of the 8-seed in the west, so that game was fairly predictable
Gonna chalk it up as frustration

You're right. Dallas is much improved. But there's getting beat and there's getting humiliated and the Lakers are getting humiliated most nights.

Tanking just clashes w/a LAL fan's natural mindset.
I always end up asking what I asked you earlier because I hear LAL fans say that all the time..they want better defense and better effort, but they also want the Top 3 pick.
LAL fans truly want it all, even in the worst of times.
But of course if they play better D and give better effort that will hurt their chances of keeping the pick.
Gotta know when to hold'em and when to fold'em.
Not to say that they actually could begin to play better D or give better effort..a lot of these guys can't play solid D under any circumstances...
...and I fear Lonzo could be one of those guys because his defense looks bad right now, questionable at best.

It's a Dodger town again. Championships or not. Lakers had a good run as the most popular team during the Kobe era while Fox and Mccourt owned the Dodgers. But it's over.

One of the reasons our games aren't on TV is because Direct TV is butthurt they paid up for the Laker channel and nobody watches it. Ratings have tanked right with the team.

Geez. Whenever I see a parent acting like that, I think the kids are doomed to drug/alcohol/sex addiction. Hopefully Lonzo and his brothers escape that.

Young reportedly burglarized while at the NBA's All-Star weekend
    by Kelly Dwyer | Ball Don't Lie — 8:15am

If it feels like celebrities have been the victims of an increasing number of burglaries in the Los Angeles area over the last year or so, your instinct is telling – and it appears that one of the NBA’s most clicked-on is the most recent victim.

The Los Angeles Times and other outlets report that Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young was relieved of half a million dollars worth of jewelry and other items during the NBA’s All-Star weekend on Feb. 18, all from the 31-year old’s Los Angeles-area home in Tarzana. TMZ was the first to report the theft:

The celebrity burglary thiefstravaganza continues … this time, crooks struck the L.A. home of Lakers star Nick Young (again!) and made off with $500K in cash and jewelry after taking his entire safe!!! Law enforcement sources confirm … Young’s Valley residence was hit in February when the bad guys entered through an unlocked door and pilfered the NBA star’s valuables. We’re told crooks took roughly $30k in cash plus 3 gold chains, a custom ring and a locked safe containing other valuables.

From the Los Angeles Times’ James Queally:

Officer Lillian Preciado, a Los Angeles police spokeswoman, said detectives are investigating a break-in at a home in the 19000 block of Wells Street in Tarzana that occurred on Feb. 18 or 19, but she would not confirm the property belonged to Young. No one was home at the time, according to Preciado, who said thieves stole $500,000 in “jewelry and other items” from the residence. Young and then-girlfriend Iggy Azaela purchased a $3.4-million Tarzana property from actress Selena Gomez in November 2014. The break-in happened the same weekend the NBA was hosting its All-Star Game festivities in New Orleans. Young was on hand to compete in the three-point shooting contest, but got knocked out in the first round.

You read that correctly. Nick Young, best known as perhaps the NBA’s top meme machine for his mercurial play, finally saw fit to streamline his game long enough to earn an invite to the NBA’s Three-Point shootout and All-Star festivities, and a team of burglars took advantage of his absence.

The style of play that made him so maddening to so many coaches over a ten-year career still netted Young a four-year, $21.5 million contract in 2014, but it was his fine work in 2016-17 (40.7 three-point shooting, a career-high, sound play for a struggling and young Lakers team) that sent him to the All-Star weekend in New Orleans, and that trip may have come at a cruel cost.

TMZ reminds that celebrities Yasiel Puig, Alanis Morrissette, and Cesar Millan have seen their Los Angeles-area homes hit by burglars recently, as has singer Nicky Minaj and, perhaps most famous to our readers, Lakers legend Derek Fisher was reportedly relieved of his five championship rings by thieves earlier in 2017.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the Los Angeles Police Department declined to speculate as to any connection between the burglaries.
