You know that Jackson and Fox will be gunning for Ball Not to mention that every other PG below him will have a chip on his shoulder Especially young no-D D'Angelo's riiiiiiiight? Sit down boy, we traded a #2 for a #27 we thought so highly of you
PG Ball/Clarkson SG ? /Clarkson/Hart/Nwaba SF Ingram/Deng/Brewer PF Randle/Nance/Kuzma C Lopez/Mozgov/Bryant Lakers need to find a cheap sharp shooter to put next to Lonzo in FA on a 1 year deal because Clarkson won't cut it. Maybe even Spazzy P can be that on an overpay. Think Black and TRob are as good as gone.
Yeah, LAL's more than likely not about to spend any real money this off-season, saving space for 2018 FA class/LeBron/Cousins/Westbrook. Really it's too hard to draw up a roster at this point with George still out there on the trade block and LAL/IND not really matching up all that well, probably needing a 3rd team to help. But yeah, ultimately, I don't think the George chase is over..1) he wants to land with LAL now and qualify for a 5yr deal/most money he can get, and then 2) Indy isn't really going to want to deal with all the backlash resulting from George's presence or deal with the 24 hour bash-a-thon that social media allows for these days. Some teams maybe need to strike out in free agency and then something will probably come together at that point, in July. I think Houston could serve as a trade partner or 3rd team for LAL/IND, Morey and Pelinka have a good relationship..they've worked together in the past to get Harden/Eric Gordon there and then of course LAL went to Morey to get a 1st round asset for Lou Williams as well. I don't think Deng would be moved, but LAL could stretch and waive him if they just felt he needed to be cleared, or keep him as an experienced ( expensive) role piece for George/whomever joins George from that 2018 FA class. Deng isn't a terrible piece to have in the right situation..a long, versatile, experienced defender that can hit the corner 3 is useful and he's a pro. Point being, if Clarkson and Randle are pushed out, that'll go a long way in clearing future cap space as well. Anyway, something like this could maybe work, http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y7sejz54 ..would future draft comp be involved there? Hard to say because that's a pretty good package for George in a walk year. But force me to draw up next year's roster right now and I'd say PG Ball/re-sign cheap Ennis to back him up SG George/Hart/Nwaba SF Ingram/Deng/Brewer PF Nance/Black/Kuzma C Lopez/Zubac/T.Bryant
Hopefully Lonzo can rise above the pass-first label and be something greater, but that pass-first label probably won't hurt in recruiting free agents to join LAL. And he can play off the ball, come off screens as a shooter as well, so cool. Got some defensive upside, far more defensive upside than Russell. Lonzo could be a hell of a piece to have, hopefully it works out. Bleacher Report needs to drop a special edition Game of Zones episode immediately..I need another Ball episode
All the Lakers young players seem like role players too. That is why they getting shipped out in favor of stars and younger prospects with higher upside.
LOL... Good news is the other PG's don't have that cKunt Don Mattingly handing them baseballs telling them to get even.... IOW: WGAF? What did Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson do with those chips? They rolled them up and shoved them up their asses! Other teams have been gunning for the Lakers for decades so hopefully we will become the envy of the rest of the league sooner than later and have them gunning for us again.
Also, Magic said other trades are still a possibility, not close to anything, but things could still happen. http://www.lakersnation.com/lakers-...-another-trade-could-still-happen/2017/06/23/ Pelinka took it a little further, said they'll be relentless in the trade market until they feel they have a championship roster
I'm just counting on Magic's PR savvy to keep LaVar OUT of the picture... shut that fucker up and tell him to stay in the wings. LaVar is already going to make beaucoupe bucks regardless someone needs to take him out behind the woodshed and explain not to rock the Lakers boat if ANYONE can get him to chill it's Magic
It's an old story, the meddling dad. Earl Woods, Richard Williams, now this guy.... they all fill their chests with self importance for getting their kids somewhere at first, step on their dicks once too many times then fade away. This yahoo is no different and the minute he fucks up again and blows another multi-million dollar deal for his kid it'll go even faster.
sad that these people try to live vicariously through their kids pretty obvious they're compensating for their own failures/shortcomings
Pick your poison. You've got the stage fathers and then you've got many of the guys drafted Thursday night who had no fathers present.
very true but you have to wonder who's more self-serving... the deadbeat dads who walked, or the gravy train hangers-on...
