The more and more I see Lonzo play, the more and more I get discouraged that he maybe at best a mid level guard in this game.

We are about 25% into the season, and the shots and consistency just isn’t there.

Some will say he is still very young and this is his first year, but we said the same about Ingram, and now he’s kinda fallen by the wayside and Kuzma is the new reals deal.

I just don’t like this trend so far.

Im not worried about him for the exact reason you stated......he is young and in his first year. Let the kid develop, or at least have a chance to develop. Also he is averaging 9ppg/7apg/7rpg......not terrible. His shooting percentage is bad, but 7apg is something this team has not seen in a LONG time. I will say he should not be starting, he needs to earn that.

 

Legend Isiah Thomas hit the nail on the head regarding Zo.
Regardless of his %'s this early, if Zo were getting 1 more made basket per game or not even that..say just got to the free throw line and made a couple more FTs and were averaging 11pts instead of 9 to go with his 7reb and 7asts there would be a different feeling.
But even without that extra bucket, he's already become the youngest player to ever record a triple double, has 2 of those, is one of only 3 rookies this year to notch a 20-10 game, and he's been good defensively for the most part.
Kid posterized Willie Cauley Stein the other night, there won't be a whole lot of point guards doing that

 

Luke needs to get it together already
