Nah on Phil. Tryin to fire Luke before the man even finishes with GSW? At least let him sit in the HC seat once
Dude we talking the Sacramento Kings and poetic justice. With Vlade and Shaq already there they just need Phil to finish the job. Remember all the shit Phil would talk about the Cow Palace, it would be great if he was the coach there with Vlade and Shaq as his bosses.
Jeff Hornacek to the Knicks over Vogel, people. Besides the obvious " WTF Phil? "...probably not realistic, but I hope Vogel can make it to Luke's staff [no homo] I'll take Vogel and B.Shaw on the bench with Luke, Vogel started his career with LAL as a scout and of course Shaw is an experienced assistant/long time LAL.
Wouldn't mind seeing him lure Ron Adams from the Warrior staff. He's defensive guru and the Lakers aren't going anywhere until they tighten up on the defensive end. That said, why would a veteran assistant with no shot at a head job (like Adams) leave a world championship coaching staff?

Steve KylerVerified account @stevekylerNBA now3 hours ago Many executives feel like Rich Paul promised Ben the Lakers to sign him... We'll see how it plays out. Yeah I can see it happening behind the scenes, gotta try and save the kid's career, Philly is a nail in anyone's coffin Lol
Dave MillerVerified account @coachdavemiller 1h1 hour ago Nicolas Batum & Brandon Ingram would be great together on the wings for the Lakers... Agreed. For LAL, Batum>Barnes>Derozan Especially when he won't cost them 20MM+ a year.

Follow the gst model. Draft ingram. Bring in a couple vets and let them play. With a core of russell, clarkson, ingram and randle how can you not be excited just a little. Kobe gone and they will be allowed to truly mature and play the new style of basketball we havent done with b scott there. Fans these days want instant gratification though forgetting it was 12 years before the 2000 chip that we won again. Hope mitch and company don't panic and trade the pick and randle for a guy like cousins...........unless of course a miracle happens and durant will come here.
Like that too. Batum is definitely a young Iguodala type and a must as far as I'm concerned. Would put Horford in that " must " category as well because of his ability to knock down the 3 ball at the 5 position, meaning more space for Randle. Conley would make it a nice, safe FA trio to add to a Randle/DLo/Ingram core. None of those guys would hinder Randle, DLo, or Ingram from maximizing their potential, all good team guys.
I really like where the Lakers are now. Unless something crazy/stupid like Durant AND Whiteside come as free agents, they probably aren't going to be very good next year, but they have a nice core of young talent. Do nothing and they're probably going to be pretty good in 3-4 years. Bring in the right free agent, or make a good trade and that's probably more like 1-2 years and they're going to really good. There's also going to be plenty of churn at the top in the West. San Antonio's window looks like its closing. The Rockets are going to move backward, the Clippers probably only have 1-2 more years of competing with their current core. Who knows whats going to happen in OKC if Durant and/or Westbrook leave. Lots of opportunity to compete in the west starting in 1-2 years.
The San Antonio part, landing Aldridge was big, Leonard/Aldridge is a good starting point for them IMO. Gotta fit the right pieces around those two, but I wouldn't put that past them, they're supposed to be going after Conley. Agree on the rest.
Agree, good core there, but tough to replace Duncan, Ginobli and Parker. Even if they're all declining and not the impact players they once were, it's tough to replace that culture and continuity. I wouldn't be surprised to see them stay solid, but I'm thinking they're a 50-win time moving forward, not a 60-win team.
BTW...I'm really excited about Julius Randle going forward. They guy's a beast: he averaged a double-double as essentially a rookie while being one of the worst shooters in the NBA. If he just turns into an average shooter, he's going to be a monster. No one will be able to stop him.
Some room for Leonard to grow, same for Aldridge in terms of post season play for him. Gonna be their team in every way once the big 3 leave, although not sure if Parker is retiring, he probably needs to as he looked as bad as the older guys. We'll see if they can pull in more FAs, hope they don't get Conley, want him with LAL
We should resign Clarkson but also sign a legit pass first PG who can lead. Mike Conley fits the bill, he also has no glaring weaknesses to his game. Very all around good player that knows his role.
