(Text) DDD: Hey Matt. It's Donnie here. I just wanted to say thanks for everything and no hard feelings. I mean that. You gave all you had. Sometimes a manager has to do what he feels is best for the team. To field the players he feels gives the team the best chance to win. Sometimes it's a hunch. Bunt, hit Hairston 4th, etc. You really did all you could Matt. Including mis-judged fly balls, Bad throws, Over chasing impossible lines drives, and costing us money to fix other team's fences when you crashed into them. You made a great impact here and I will never forget it. You worked so hard and ran the bases with such great intentions. It was something uh, unique. Yeah. I have never ever seen such a talent work with such vigor while at the plate. I mean you really did all you could and put everything you had into trying to hit those sliders off the plate. Your desire was true. I appreciate that Matt. I really do. I wish you all the best. See you in the Spring "Padre". No, I don't mean I'm calling you my dad in Spanish because you're in San Diego and closer to Tijuana. Or because I think you're Catholic ... you're not are you? Anyway, I meant 'Padre' as in you being on the Padres now because we traded you there. So take care, see you around and good luck in the future.
