did you know any previous sports owners histories? no you didnt, the public used to not even know jack shit of owners who had owned teams for years i think we need extensive checks on people but the 'ive never heard of this guy' check is not really valid its probably going to be a given that you arent going to know much about people who havent been in the sports eye remember when Cuban was just that computer nerd who thought he could buy a pro nba team and nobody took him seriously then he did im wary of this guy for the very fact that i dont really know much about him but im not going to write him off without first getting to know more because the MLB people are going to check, we would hope then again imo Blackstone wasnt going to get into the game for shits and giggles if they are in, they most likely already know the final score
do you know one thing that mitt romney has ever made? yet millions are ready to make him the leader of this nation we would be lucky to have this kinda of scrutiny placed on the people set to lead our country over those set to lead our sports teams
there are gold mines everywhere new technology to let people find stuff in the ground that could not be seen years before tech we had back when we were nice enough to buy western america from mexico and alaska from russia there be gold in them hills... and in that gulf and in the gulf of vietnam and the deserts of iraq and the hills of afghanistan just gold comes in many shapes, sizes, and colors i dont know anything about this dude, but maybe he developed tech to find some kind of deposit of a valuable resource on some cheap scrubland that sells for a few thousand bucks an acre in some places hmmm, some cheap land in the wilderness seems like a good idea
but yeah, bud selig was totally fair with frank mccourt all along, right? lol its all personal guys, like ive said from the start frank mccourt was supposed to be an easy puppet to lead around, exactly the type bud likes he had no money and no connections in the game supposedly so he was easy to control but frank quickly made friends with the evil empire and the evil empire rewards those who reward it with sweetheart deals for fox by the dodgers came fox support inside the MLB and pressure on bud enough for bud to no longer feel like he could effectively control mccourt and then mccourt rebelled completely i know you guys hate the al davis comparison but look at it from the league office POV not your POV to them McCourt represented someone who was not going to toe the line and do what the league office commanded but instead do what was best for his business, and that business includes the dodgers someone who thinks in that way is the type of owner who usually does what is within his means to help his organizations frank is a snake, but imo all these types of people are probably dirty filthy snakes its hard to get where they are by being good honest people but at least i knew McCourt has the one thing that most others owners dont have the willingness and the balls to routinely go against the leadership of the sport even when the league had already put the media and the fans in their pocket its hard to find owners who are like that the only thing harder than finder an owner that will challenge the league like that is finding an owner who isnt a dirty snake they usually all are snakes, but few of those snakes is also a great ballsy leader IMO its harder to tame a snake than to find a leader one just takes time, the other is near impossible
ok so its personal. all those swinging dicks that want to make sure spank fails will be sure he is fucked. i'm sure a lot of these cocksuckers you mentioned have a hard on for spankies bunghole. i hope they forget the lube and crush his balls. you think he doesn't deserve it? nigga please. any comparisons to al davis hold no water. just win has no relation to just steal. give me a fucking break.
from their perspective diablo, not ours or even reality why are you playing like you dont understand when you do? al davis was hated by the NFL Office, no matter how many nice things they said just like McCourt is hated at the MLB Office not because he is not a nice guy or because he looked at Bud Seligs wife the wrong way... but because McCourt isnt playing the Bud Selig game look at the guys from the Mets, how much trouble this guy has put the organization in, how much debt, how much he has had to leverage himself and the team to the point where some guy is just waiting for him to default in order to take the team (selig wont let that happen), he has been bailed out and allowed to keep his franchise and people cant seem to understand why its some kind of mystery to them how fred wilpon incurs no wrath from Selig he is part of the MLB ownership inner circle, the ones who really hold the power
Notoriety, fifteen minutes of fame and enjoying seeing Dodger fans rallied by their leadership against McCourt and perhaps if Giant fans just to screw over the Dodgers all prior to getting their money and oh yeah jacking up the pressure on the Dodgers to settle at the higher price.
Dada Bing and he has been rewarded by being appointed to the committee to approve the Dodger bidders.
Nah at this point they are all seeing dollar signs like in major appreciation for their franchises. The more the Dodgers go for the more it escalates the value of the other franchises. You may hate your neighbor but when they put their house on the market do you want to see their selling price crushed thus lowering the comps in the neighborhood or do you want them to sell for top dollar and elevate the neighborhood comps?
Everyone with standing in the Dodger sale has signed on to the timeline and established roll out of the bidding and eventual sale process. The only possible exception is Team Stowe. They have standing and can anyone be certain they have said or are on board with the plan? They do have standing and the right to involve the court to represent their interest as evidenced by their latest request to the court, will it be their last?
of course they'd go after a higher price any way they could but they could care less about dodger/giant rivalry, fame and/or mccourt hatred they're attorneys they care only about themselves check that... only about the almighty dollar
my response was actually to rubes comments about selig/mccourt. of course in the end the other owners want it to sell for more but it will already likely sell for the highest amount in history. still i doubt a 1.5 number does much to boost the value of the royals, pirtates et al.
Excellent point and very true. It is notable that the owners on the committee to review the bidders are owners who are spending and have franchises that are marketable with higher profiles.
http://www.therepublic.com/view/story/d3b56431478646ec8181aa5a55b8df52/BBN--Dodgers-Stow/ The legal team has been quoted elsewhere making similar comments. Not exactly a way to make McCourt want to settle considering his slash and burn mentality when pissed.
Interestin link how the Stow law suit is being used by law firms to recruit other potential victims of sport stadium/concert violence for litigation purposes. Lots of future income could be riding on this high profile case. http://www.bostwickfirm.com/Persona...cisco-Giants-Fan-Bryan-Stow-Negligence-L.aspx
In all fairness to Frank, he isn't the one who beat up Stow. The lawyers need to lay the fuck off as far as personal insults go. What happened was horrible. But it isn't Frank's fault and it was going to happen. A Giant fan was being a douche to the wrong people (idiots I might add) and got his ass beat. It happens in many walks of life. It isn't right. But they need to quit acting like Frank was in the pavilion with a wife-beater on heckling Brian Stow.
