The funny thing is just the opposite as being non partisan is chilling and consistent with the life style. Truthfully a lot more to win at in life than sports. A tad old for
Much of the now common banter in fandom and politics

Nice. As said by many to each his own. Enjoy!

And yes, there are many things more important than sports but the Dodgers are therapy for many including myself. The conflict of looking at the standings and seeing my Dodgers and Padres battling for first and last place respectively, would drive me nuts.:vlick:

pretty much my entire baseball life Ive played catcher. Benito Santiago was somewhat of a hero for me. As a dodger fan this was a bit conflicting but the throws down to second from his knees...Damn he was fun to watch. I was conflicted but realized at the end of the day...The only team I care about..Is the Dodgers Baby!

I fully understand what you are saying and this was me until a few years ago. Die hard Dodgers, hated the Giants, Die hard Steelers hated the other AFC North teams and the Raiders. Being on the East Coast I would stay up as late as I could. If I woke up at 3:00 in the morning check the score etc. With DVR or Tivo I would rewind for any big highlights etc etc etc. Yup Dodgers and Steelers were a great therapy and stress reducer. Now between retirement and the pursuit of Chi I am mellow almost seven days a week and life is therapy. I don't hate the Giants, were happy for them and our division when they won the WS. Would rather have someone in our division win and our division have bragging rights etc. Spend a lot of summer time at the beach and enjoying life. Work requires outlets that a mellow retirement doesn't. The level of conversation in this forum is at times oh well that's another topic

Love of one think doesn't require dismissing another. It is possible to be indifferent to.

    i just find it disingenuous
pick a team, root for them through thick and thin
lakers suck right now, but i'll bleed purple and gold regardless -- forever
just too convenient to hop on the hot team's bandwagon

    • ESPN’s Buster Olney wonders (based only on his own speculation) if the Orioles and Dodgers could fit as trade partners in a bad-contract deal of Ubaldo Jimenez for Andre Ethier. It’s not a bad idea, though the trade probably works better for L.A. than it does for Baltimore since losing Jimenez (even considering his 2014 struggles) would leave the O’s a bit thin on rotation depth.

On the above subject. Dodgers, Arsenal and N.Z Warriors all the way, my baseball, football and rugby league teams respectively. And, they all never win shit, and I still love them.

All other sports (apart from rugby union, I hate our national team) I support New Zealand (we play a lot more internationally relevant sports than America.) Once any of those teams are no longer relevant in a season, I don't even follow the sport. When I do follow other teams, it is purely because I want my team to benefit from the result. Each man to his own, but in all honesty I find Tuborg's method an absolute travesty. I would question your fandom. Having your hand in so many cookie jars is as bad as frontrunning.

Not that you care what some random shithead on the internet thinks. Enjoy your life and your sport! That's also important... I guess.

Perhaps you are missing my point. I root for the name on the front and back of the uniform and when the name on the front changes for a favorite they remain a favorite. My favorite players are started out as Dodgers and they still remain my favorite team but I have always had favorite ex Dodgers including Piazza, Martinez, Hersheiser etc etc etc. Not disingenuous as I have never claimed otherwise and been right up front which is how this dialog got started.

    adjective
    1.
lacking in frankness, candor, or sincerity; falsely or hypocritically ingenuous; insincere:

I didn't realize that picking one team and one only and only players of that team regardless was part of the TOS for this forum. Adaptation is just that.

Question on and as you well note thoughts in this forum are just that with little or no relevance to our real life path. We all define ourselves with our own paint brush and how narrow or wide a swath we brush is up to us.

Why? If you still like the picture and the shirt and the player why? Not everyone has a Dodger specific Sig!

2 reasons. because that quote should stand alone and because Dee himself would be disgusted.
