In comparison to SVS and Ethier they are and using only last year's performance as a basis for that debate would be incredibly short sighted
however, SVS is a younger player and his resume not being as lengthy as Ethier's is a positive here. SVS could be just that good ( against lefties in particular) and they need to find out. we know what Ethier is..old. SVS represents the youth that the Dodgers want to keep in the mix.
28 is young enough for this mix. and if you now wanna compare Ethier and CC, Crawford is obviously moving better than Ethier is even though he's older.
i think it is debatable because they [cc/dre/svs] all have flaws i like carl's bat but he's the worst defensively maybe not statistically, but every time a ball is hit to him i hold my breath horrible fielding mechanics and an extremely weak/innacurate arm
I'd base my numbers on the past couple of years the trend for each. In that case I think SVS is clearly better. You are right, SVS may struggle a lot against righties, but we also don't know that because he hasn't really had a chance to face them on a regular bases. With regards to CC clearly being better than SVS, well, we can just agree to disagree there because I don't even think it is close, lol...
that is just it, not only is CC's arm weak, it is horribly inaccurate. And more than a few times this spring has a ball I thought he should've caught sail over his head.
we'll see what CC's arm looks like in the reg-season. as far as where it is right now..they just praised his arm strength on the telecast about a half hour ago when he held a DBack to a single. also talked about how it's been 3 years now since the TJ surgery and how he's been able to work out and strengthen it. we'll see. of course we know he has more range and graded out better than Ethier.
