Won't even make a big deal about the steal and the white Magic like no look pass in the open court to Svi Did you see the footwork @ 01:45??
Someone told me a couple weeks ago that the Thunder were using Melo wrong. He is a mid range, ISO guy who needs to get the ball in the post, and last year they had him playing off the ball chucking a higher % of 3's than he is accustomed to. As a result he had his worst season. I don't expect that to change if for some reason he stays.
You don't simply think that his minutes mileage long (long) ago expired his work ethic? I mean ain't no one EVER claimed Melo had Kobe's work ethic not close which is why he was never a Laker before and he ought to go away somewhere and retire
Melo should get buff and become a C. PG: Lonzo = Christie/Van Exel SG: KCP = Peeler/Threat SF: Ingram = Jones/Odom PF: Kuzma = Fox/Horry C : LeBron = Magic/Randle C: : Javale = Bynum/Campbell PF: Wagner = Cook/Lopez SF: Stephenson = Ceballos/Artest SG: Hart = Fisher/Scott PG: Rondo = Lue/Nixon
I don’t know much about the cap numbers with Melo, but I don’t think stretching him help OKC that much. I’d rather take the pain this year and get him off the books sooner than stretching over an extended length. Being at $300M in payroll, they’d have to dump a lot more salary than just Melo’s.
Letting 'Melo go could save Thunder more than $100 million http://www.normantranscript.com/spo...cle_d300f6e4-80a4-11e8-8f81-2bc575be6b28.html
Nah, LAL had real interest in Melo before he got to NY, also later after he had a chance to leave NY. Lakers and Nuggets had trade talks surrounding Pau and Melo in 2011. And what I was alluding to earlier with @Chiefdodgerslkrs24 is how, if Melo is bought out or stretch/waived in OKC, he could be banging down LAL's door to try and link up with LeBron. Melo's preferred list is already out..it's Lakers @ #1, followed by Denver and GSW. Now, I'm not saying I want Melo with LAL right now. Just delivering the message that this shit could very happen if Melo wants to take a 1yr/5M offer, don't sleep. LAL has 5M in cap space and they're obviously collecting playoff tested guys that can create for themselves, rather than depend on LeBron to spoon feed them. And Melo is actually an underrated defender of sorts that can switch between wing and post responsibilities on that side of the floor. Not a lot of positives in his game at this point, but I can say that much for him.
Aaaand here we go.. Adrian WojnarowskiVerified account@wojespn 7m7 minutes ago ESPN Sources with @royceyoung: Oklahoma City, Carmelo Anthony will part ways this summer, likely saving team over $100M. Thunder working with 'Melo's reps on exits that include trade, stretch provision. Story: http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/24017911/oklahoma-city-thunder-carmelo-anthony-part-ways
Just for fun, lets say LAL has interest in signing Melo to a 1yr deal - perhaps sliding LeBron to center mostly ( Lol) - that'd just be one more 1 year contract to throw in Popovich's face, continuing to show their willingness to wait until next year for Kawhi in FA. BTW, Gottlieb is currently on FS1 right now explaining how LeBron played center against GSW. Said instead of signing a starting caliber center this summer " that'll be me "
All these 1 year contracts = expiring contracts for trade bait midseason for stars looking to be traded for the playoff push
Alex KennedyVerified account@AlexKennedyNBA When I wrote about the possibility of the Thunder parting ways with Carmelo Anthony, we quoted a fellow NBA player who predicted that 'Melo would land with either the Rockets or the Lakers.
