Latest Laker: Isaac Bonga by Joey Ramirez Digital Reporter Posted: Jul 05, 2018 The Lakers have officially acquired Isaac Bonga, completing a trade with Philadelphia for the 39th-overall draft pick. Despite having the frame of a small forward, the 18-year-old has begun his career as a point guard, towering over his positional peers in Germany’s top league. At 6-foot-9 and 200 pounds, he has impressive size for a ball handler, and the length to match. He started 19 of 21 games for the Fraport Skyliners last season, averaging 7.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.2 steals. big wingspan but how big?
Woj: The Houston Rockets, Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers are among multiple teams expected to express interest in Anthony, sources tell ESPN.
Officially the 1st day of FA, signings becoming official Los Angeles LakersVerified account@Lakers 8m8 minutes ago Welcome to the squad, Rajon!!
Bobby MarksVerified account@BobbyMarks42 Two players that will be in a holding pattern with the moratorium lifted, Lance Stephenson and JaVale McGee. Expect the Lakers to exhaust free agent/trade options with the remaining $5.6M in cap space before they sign the 2 players. Signing both now and room goes away. LAL could always stretch and waive Deng if they need more room. But I get the feeling LAL is telling the Spurs to take Deng in their Kawhi offer
Why not just hold onto Deng this year and trade his ass as an 18MM expiring contract next offseason? We already got LeBron.
They didn't even want to give Boogie 5M to sit and do his rehab for half the year. I doubt they'll want to pay Deng 18M to sit and do whatever he's doing on the bench or wherever they send him
Yeah but with Deng we can get an asset for him next year compared to having to trade him attached to an asset this year or pay him for 5 years.
Am I the only one that thinks Deng has value as a player on this team? We're not trying to develop the young guys now, Deng might be able to help. Solid defender and solid guy off the bench.
You mean take on a lengthier contract to get a draft pick? I'd be shocked if they didn't just attach a pick to Deng to shed that money and free up payroll to make a push for a top FA next offseason..if it ever even got that far. Guess we'll find out soon
I'm under the impression that teams will trade a pick for Deng's expiring contract next season. Is that false thinking? I feel like that used to be a thing in the NBA
I almost felt bad commenting, for two reasons. Dudes should not be judging other dudes clothing that much. But this dude has no excuses. He is rich, middle aged, corporate, white, not out of touch, not an out of touch immigrant buying discounted 'fashions' at ross or marshalls, not a young kid trying too hard to look 'cool', not a rapper either... I dont get it. He should not feel the need to chase. His clothing screams that he is chasing. Probably just trying to be relevant with the young players he represented and now manages. I don't know. Usually, when you try to be relevant you become the opposite. You don't see Magic sporting skinny jeans with fake wrinkles and distress patterns... and Magic has skinny legs!
Times when teams have lengthier contracts that they'd like to move, so they incentivize their offers with picks
