If you're talking about trading a draft pick and nothing else for Deng's contract, the team receiving Deng has to already have cap space to take him in. And if they're taking Deng into cap space that they already have, the move becomes sort of redundant. You're just giving up a draft pick for nothing. Go out and give a guy that can really help you a balloon offer like KCP's and then clear him at the end of the season..keep your pick.
We're gonna end up with Melo. I can feel it. Lol Rockets had a chance to trade for him before and failed..and they sort of already have an identity there @ forward with Tucker and Mbah Moute. If LAL does get Melo, LeBron is all in for playing a lot of 5..he's already likely to play a solid amount. That said, if Melo can play with this group and not get in the way of the kids' development, I'll take him. He had a terrible offensive year last year, but largely because he stayed out of Russ'/PG's way and played off the ball a lot. So if he can just continue staying out of the way for the most part, allowing Ingram to point-forward and Zo/Rondo to make him better, I actually won't mind crazy uncle Melo. Again, he's actually OK at doing what Luke likes to do defensively with all of the switching. 36% from the 3pt line over the last 6 years isn't bad. A 5-4 pick and roll/pop between LeBron and Melo could open up all sorts of new possibilities offensively. I don't even know what I'm saying all this for..it's fucking LeBron James..of course he can figure out how to use Melo.
