They go inside the numbers..veeeery big difference between Ariza's and KCP's 3pt shooting % when left open.... Why the Lakers should trade for Trevor Ariza tomorrow https://www.silverscreenandroll.com...ba-news-analysis-stats-breakdown-phoenix-suns
Lakers have become fairly competent analytically. I knew there had to be something inside the numbers from a shooting aspect. But I still harken back to when Luke first took the job..he highlighted his preferred style and profile defensively and literally said they were after 6'8"/6'9" guys that can switch and hold their own both outside and inside against big guys. Ariza fits the profile. Just have to try to keep him fresh. KCP's best qualities defensively would be energy, ability to pressure full court when needed, and probably his #1 attribute would be how he's able to chase offensive players around screens. However, the latter is more of a retro-fit in this new NBA. Teams are trying to chase guys around screens less and less. They'd prefer to just switch, even in off-ball situations. And KCP just doesn't really excel against bigger guys like that. It's not really a knock on him, most guys his size aren't capable of holding their own against bigs. But both Zo and Hart do excel in this aspect, though. They've done very well against bigs when called upon to switch away from the ball. Ariza will fall into that group..should this trade be completed, that is.
Now the Thunder have interest in KCP. I don't like that. But as was reported early on, big part of this is just KCP finding a place he can ink a multi-year deal, a better fit.... https://sports.yahoo.com/report-kentavious-caldwell-pope-looking-161055782.html While sources confirmed that there have been discussions about trading Caldwell-Pope, the legwork is being done on Caldwell-Pope’s side to find him a better situation.
Lol Wut? Three-team trade off after miscommunication on which Brooks was heading to Suns Adrian Wojnarowski ESPN A three-team deal that would have sent Trevor Ariza to the Washington Wizards and Kelly Oubre to the Memphis Grizzlies is dead over which Brooks -- MarShon or Dillon -- the Phoenix Suns had believed they were getting, league sources said. The Grizzlies and Suns didn't communicate directly on the trade, using Washington as a conduit in coordinating the three-team deal, sources told ESPN. The Grizzlies believed they were trading MarShon Brooks to Phoenix, but the Suns believed it was Dillon.
So PHX Suns' owner Sarver is actively blocking Ariza from the Lakers - https://twitter.com/davidaldridgedc/status/1073781880498085888 We can have Steve Nash, but not Trevor Ariza? Anyway, I don't know where LAL goes from here, but a trade for AD would be OK. According to those close to him, Ariza has interest in a reunion with the Lakers, via L.A. Times: The Lakers very much would like to acquire Ariza, the people said. And people close to Ariza, who signed a one-year deal with the Suns for $15 million, said he would like to return home to Los Angeles and play for the Lakers.
The Wizards didn't want to lose Oubre for nothing in the offseason so they traded for a player on an expiring contract lol
Dual triple doubles, LeBron and Zo 1st time it's been done since 2007, Kidd and Vince Last time 2 Lakers had a triple double in the same game, Kareem and Magic
Debating on if it’s worth $300 to go see LeBron in Brooklyn Tuesday. I’ve seen him once before in a Cavs Bulls playoff game.
