didn't go to my latest hs reunion but i saw an "in memoriam" list and was stunned by how many of my former/fellow classmates had passed
negro just means black in spanish comes from the latin niger of course we pronounce niger as nigh-jurr because... but in latin it was pronounced knee-gair
all latin countries i've been to refer to the darkest skinned amongst us as negros, pronouncing it like nay grow, not knee grow, nay gra, not knee gra if you aren't quite that dark you are moreno or morena and all the other variations of color description skinny people are flacas and fat people gordos there's like a million ways of describing people and its usually done to your face and not to be taken as an insult now if you hear huevon, mamon etc. you are being insulted at least thats been my experience
The last time I said negro is when Obama's birth certificate read 'African American' when it should have read ' Negro' in the race description, considering the year in which he was born. Lol.
