Just got back from Rockies opening day.... IT WAS FUCKING MISERABLE! 26 degrees and snowing at first pitch and it never got better. Brandon McCarthy pitched decently for the Braves who pounced on Marquez early when he could not find the zone(I wonder why?!?). Then McCarthy hit a 2 run double into the gap. Would not be shocked to see him have a decent year in a smaller baseball market. One thing to watch was he worked mostly 89-90 with his FB, would be interested to see if that was temperature related. Still mad that I drove downtown to freeze my nuts off for that, the players looked like they had zero interest in being there and no joke, half the stadium emptied after the first inning.
I guess it was the coldest Rockies game on record. We were in the club level so we could go get warm whenever we wanted, but it's not the same as it just makes for a lackluster experience. I tried sticking it out through the last 3-4 innings, but being that I was the only dude in the section I decided to give up. Don't know how football fans can do that shit.
It's 25 in Minneapolis right now. Dozier can have fun with that today. They're slated to have snow tomorrow.
Reminds me of going to this A’s game at the Shithole that Pedroia said was the coldest game he ever played in. It was MISERABLE.
