Dennis Schroder - " I don't want to play for the Lakers ".... Hoop Central@TheHoopCentral The Lakers still reportedly have trade interest in Dennis Schroder Yeah...." I don't want to play for the Lakers " isn't gonna work when Magic said similar after he was drafted. Try that BS elsewhere
Looks like we're getting Dennis Schroder, or young Rondo as I like to call him. Deal will include the 1st round pick. Pretty good. Also been a lot smoke surrounding Serge Ibaka/Gallinari..guessing MLE
Adrian Wojnarowski@wojespn 34m Schroder-to-the-Lakers is well on course to be completed on Monday, sources tell ESPN. Rival teams in pursuit of the OKC guard have started moving onto new targets. The Lakers will land an impactful, versatile guard in pursuit of the franchise's title defense. Adrian Wojnarowski@wojespn Lakers guard Danny Green and the No. 28 overall pick have been a focus of the trade discussions for Schroder, sources tell ESPN.
Shams Charania@ShamsCharania Lakers and Thunder have agreement in principle on deal to send Dennis Schroder to Los Angeles, and No. 28 pick in Wednesday's Draft to OKC, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA@Stadium Presti helping LAL bury the Clips so they bottom out after next season and make OKC's draft picks a lot more valuable :clap::clap::clap:
Clips are gonna be forced to either run it back with that group or take lesser deals. If I know Lou Williams is overrated, I'm sure every exec in the league knows too..and the same goes for Beverley. And they both lack winner's intangibles..shouldn't want either around a young group of players. Where exactly do they fit best? Clippers.
Marc Stein@TheSteinLine League sources say they have interest in trying to sign Wesley Matthews away from Milwaukee to replace Danny Green Wes Matthews Jr. finally a Laker like his pops?
I guess this means Rondo is gone as well as Bradley (or at least a hedge against losing both), and the DeRozen rumors are bunk. Does this mean we only have a second round pick this draft (not that it matters since we are in win now mode)? I guess we now have to focus on the center position and backup PF. Re-sign Dwight? McGee (ehhh), or take a flyer on Cousins?
LAL might have had some interest in Derozan, and Pop likely had some interest in Kuz, but being that Pop never wants to help LAL win titles that probably weighed in the heaviest. Derozan definitely wants to play for the Lakers, so whatever the case, Pop has to deal with his best player wanting to be elsewhere now. Hope the interest was leaked by LAL's side just so Pop has to do damage control with a star that's looking for an exit. He fucked with LAL when they were after AD..would be fine with the shoe being on the other foot now Don't believe we have a 2nd round pick right now, but they can buy one as they've done in the past..probably will
As for the center spot..lots of smoke surrounding Serge Ibaka in the past couple days. Gonna need to be tougher with Schroder on board since he's a pest..would be nice if he had a bodyguard out there. Ibaka is definitely one of the league's toughest
Bobby Marks@BobbyMarks42 Lakers will gain some valuable flexibility when it comes to their $9.3M midlevel exception: Out Green $15,365,853 + Pick 28- $1.964,780 In Schroder $15,500,000 Don't know that Dwight is looking for money. His situation likely hasn't changed..he's got $$$. Role and fit are probably more important. And Gallinari's already said he's not concerned about money this time around. If LAL can split the MLE down the middle and somehow get Ibaka and Gallinari to accept = game..season..repeat Ibaka/Dwight AD/Gallinari LBJ/Kuz KCP/Caruso/Iguodala Schroder/Tucker
Was leaked that Cousins actually won't be ready for the start of next season. May be time to leave that dream. Don't know how serious this guy is about finishing his career strong..work ethic was always an issue for him
Keep an eye on another former Kentucky center - Nerlens Noel. Klutch client and also pretty good chemistry with Schroder
Give your MLE money to Noel and poach Jae Crowder and and Derrick Jones Jr from the heat plus Wes Matthews Jr from the Bucks. WIth Kuzma as a small ball center since LeBron and Davis play the only other positions he can get minutes at. PG: Schroeder, Bradley, Quinn SG: Matthews, Caruso, Tucker SF: LeBron, Jones, Dudley PF: Davis, Crowder, Kostas C : Noel, Kuzma, Cacok
