    It is what it is.

    It is coming.

    Will we? Won't we?

In order to not talk about today's (and pretty much every other) game, I thought we could discuss the different scenarios the Dodgers will be in on this date.

Here are the questions. Give your answers. Respond to those before you.

    1. If the Dodgers are at or above .500, should they trade for a bat or arm?
    2. If so, for whom?
    3. If so, whom do we give up?
    4. If not, do we trade for prospects or salary relief?
    5. If so, whom do we call up?
    6. Should the Dodgers simply hold and see how the season plays out?
    7. Do you trust Ned at the deadline?
    8. Predict our record on July 31st.
    9. What one offseason move would change the course of the Dodgers and right the ship?

Dre is the only person we could trade, but his value is low right now so hopefully he heats up and we can get a good SP or a 3B.

To answer question 7, no, I don't. I fully expect that SP or 3B to be a guy who was on a failing team and will continue to fail for us.

    Here are my answers:
    1. If the Dodgers are at or above .500, should they trade for a bat or arm? No. I do not trust Ned not to rape the farm and acquire someone who will help us.
    2. If so, for whom? N/A
    3. If so, whom do we give up? N/A
    4. If not, do we trade for prospects or salary relief? I agree with MZA, we can hope that Dre' gets hot, eat some of his salary, and get an actual 3B.
Here is a list of those that could have trade value and help us acquire some young talent (and maybe a diamond in the rough): Uribe, Punto, Lilly, Capuano, Ellis, Schumaker, and Hairston.
    5. If so, whom do we call up? Just pick a AAAA player.
    6. Should the Dodgers simply hold and see how the season plays out? If we are falling hard, I say try to salvage this season with some young talent. What could it hurt? If everyone comes back healthy and looking good, let it play out.
    7. Do you trust Ned at the deadline? Absofuckinglutely NOT.
    8. Predict our record on July 31st. 3 games below .500.
    9. What one offseason move would change the course of the Dodgers and right the ship? I have no fucking idea.

Bringing Puig up is a step in the right direction. Over the next 13 games, we'll see if we're on the good side of 5 GB, or the wrong side of 8+ and we'll have a better idea of what's to come.

I think Ned really needs to go though. Let a fresh mind come in and assess things from an unbiased perspective. Then the dominoes can fall in the right cohesive direction.
