So Camello says 1 person in the LAL draft war room wanted to trade Ingram to the Suns for the #1 overall pick. LAL was reportedly in love with Mo Bamba and PHX supposedly had interest in taking Deng off LAL's hands if they were sending Ingram or Kuzma along with him. So it looks like the idea of moving Ingram is at least being tossed around a bit. Also, not even sure if LAL can give the Spurs permission to talk to Julius or agree in principle to a sign/trade before July, so that could've been at least 1 reason why the conversation between LAL and the Spurs was a short one. LAL was possibly in a situation where they were looking to offer Ingram, Deng, the 25th pick and next year's 1st for Kawhi, and maybe the Spurs already knew and just rather not be a part of any Deng salary dump...
In my view I can't see why anyone would want to absorb the Deng salary committment... why would you do that??

Playing out of position Cap. Melo is very inefficient as a catch and shoot big. He is a ballhandling wing with some low post moves. Not a guy who you want camping in the perimeter which is what OKC has him do. They might buy him out so he can sign a minimum deal and play next to LeBron.
