Nice try, but money doesn't work. Deng and Randle for Love works but they are not that desperate to get rid of Love. Besides, I don't want washed up Love. Id rather go after injured Kawhi or Lillard. Either way MGT is stuck with Deng. The stretch provision is looking more and more likely.
I think so too. Hate to see the Mitch and Jim are idiots tax weighing on the franchise for the next few years though.
The Cavs can throw in one of their scrubs to balance out the 4M or so needed. Kevin Love can be traded, im sure the Clippers would take him. In the east Deng can actually give them some value at PF. Ok i just want to get rid of the Mitch and Jim tax too.
2 ways Deng can leave..stretch/waive or attached to Ingram. Some team would absolutely take Deng on to get Ingram. And I'd say the only way LAL could get Lillard is if they give up Ingram.
Although, Kuzmamba is probably getting to the level now that some team would take Deng to get him too. LAL absolutely needs a star/closer or superstar in return, though..wouldn't be some D'angelo salary dump, obviously
Yeah they could add Frye to make the money work but noone wants Deng's IDIOTIC contract. The only way Deng is traded is if Ball or Ingram are added (not happening, MGT has said so) or add a draft pick (also not happening, MGT said so). We are stuck with him. I would agree, you attach Ingram to Deng and he is gone, and the money also works to free up cash. So the question is is a core of Kuzma/Ball/Clarkson/Randle better than a core of Kuzma/Ball/Ingram? Unfortunately MGT believes in the latter, so trading away Deng is realistically a pipe dream.
Moving Ingram for Lillard wouldn't mean Clarkson is sticking around. Don't think it'd mean Randle is sticking either. I can't say that keeping Ingram is an unfortunate situation..Ingram is special
I agreee, unfortunate for your scenario of moving Deng. Unfortunate that we are stuck with him. Totally agree that Ingram is special. IMO a core of Ingram/Kuzma/Ball will be a HUGE plus in attracting any FA's to LA.
A team like the Cavs who is desperate and at the deadline might take on Deng's deal if it means getting a talent infusion or a shake-up that improves their roster. Like they need to move Love so they can improve their defense/rebounding/hustle play by giving Tristan Thompson those minutes at C. When you play Love at C he becomes a huge pussy, at least thats what came out from those player meetings. Teammates dont respect him at all. Clarkson is playing better D and would be the best SG on their team, shoot he may even be their best option at PG since Isaiah is tiny and not even in shape yet and might not be back to full strength this year. Randle would be a huge help at PF and backup Thompson at C.
That might be the case but I doubt MGT wants Love's contract. He will be getting $24MM next year and $25 the year after that.
Deng + Clarkson is 29M. Plus what you gotta pay Randle. Lots of lower end teams that cant attracts star players would take Kevin Love in a trade. And not all teams are playing GSW type ball, some of those low end teams are smart enough to know they cant run with those boys and are investing in more traditional players that can hit mid range and post shots vs 3 point bombs.
I think that is where we differ. I don't believe there is a market for an aging, hurt, possible locker room issue Love at his current salary.
You forget the characters they have on that Cleveland team. I would take Kevin Loves word over half of those guys. Their coach essentially said his those players were crazy to talk shit about Love. The Warriors would turn Kevin Love into a gravy of flowing 3 pointers. Klay is his close buddy. Cavs absolutely need a SG that can score more than 8 PPG on a consistent basis. And they need a legit PF that is not a SF like Jeff Green and Jae Crowder. Clarkson and Randle as starters on that team would be a godsend for LeBron. Thomas, Clarkson, LeBron, Randle, Thompson is a much better starting five than they can muster right now. And as far as money is concerned the Cavs have a ton of trade exceptions. A 5.5M one from the Kyrie trade to start.
Again I still don't think that anyone is going to accept Deng in trade unless a first round pic, Ball, or Ingram are attached. MGT has already said they will not do any of that, so from a $ stand point the only way it works is sending out Clarkson/Randle/Nance/Zubac or Clarkson/Randle/Brewer. I honestly don't think MGT makes either of those trades because I do not believe Love is the piece that will lure Bron to the Lakers in FA. Setting aside the "locker room" issue, you still have an aging hurt player that is taking up $49MM for the next two years. We all know that MGT's goal is to have $ at the end of this year to sign two max FA basically saying to Bron; "pick who you want to come to LA with you". I suppose MGT could instead make a trade for a player at the deadline using Clarkson and Randle and then not worry about having enough $ to get two FA, but it would need to be a player that Bron would want to play with, IMO Love is not that guy.
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y9mjxjyh Add a future 2nd round draft pick coming LAL's way and may be all good LAL clears all 3 off the books after the season, gets the added cap space Frye a former Luke teammate at Zona, maybe he re-signs on the cheap after the season, cheap stretch 5 option
George misses the All Star game and thinks Russ sticking up for him makes his decision this summer " easier ". George may never make another All Star game in is life, as loaded as the west is, so I guess Russ will be working over time on that one And if LeBron moves west a whole lot of hearts are going to be broken as far as the All Star game is concerned
