Grab Kyrie in FA and build around LeBron/AD/Kyrie/Zo. Can still afford 1 MLE exception guy after that..should probably be somebody like Marcus Morris that can bring some toughness, some shooting, and some experience. In a perfect world, could get both Morris twins, a 2 for 1. Wouldn't mind having Lance back for cheap, but they have to find some guys that'll be good with playing for a title. A young unrestricted guy like Richaun Holmes could come cheap. A Looney or a Noah Vonleh. A Nerlens Noel who's repped by Paul. There will be options out there after they unload for AD. Kyrie/AD opens up the title chasing window wider. Complete shuffle, outside of LeBron and Zo. Hire Ty Lue.

Given the schedule and their absolute lack of defense and team chemistry, it’s just better to tank. Luke is a lame duck. The reset button has to be pushed with an emphasis on proven talent. If that means we instantly become one of the older teams in the NBA, so be it.
I may be the only one, but I think the Kuz-BI-Zo core can be good...if they have a coach that hold them accountable on defense. One of them really needs to go in favor of someone that's a better shooter. I'd really like to see the Lakers keep BI.

They were earlier this season. if our strategy is just to get another max guy via trade and fill the team with older vets we like we got this season, then we arent winning. develop the young guys. lebron is in a downslide. guy will be 35 next year for Christ's sake. hes not getting younger. gutting the young core could set us back another decade.
They can try the young core stuff next time. It's easy to put a young core together..all you have to do is suck for like 3-4 years..and then suck for like for 3-4 more years while they mature..if they mature in championship caliber players. Not that any of that actually flies for Laker business, but it's a cute Clipper way of repeated failure. If this was war, and we were heavily committed to flanking the west while leaving ourselves somewhat exposed south..we damn well better take the west. The strategy was to trade for AD and then turn to free agency to bring forth a Big 3. They also reportedly weren't going to give up every young player they have..given the difference in money, they probably had designs on keeping a much cheaper Kuz. Although, I believe Zo is the closest to being ready to play championship caliber basketball because of the tool between his two ears.
