Actually, I could live without them. Brad was a big contributor to part of the exodus from Huzzah. He wasn't the ringleader, but he didn't hesitate to pile on. Posters such as FSUdog, bburnam, myself and others grew tired of shenanigans and cliquish behavior and migrated away. huh? turned on Burnam like a barracuda. Accused him of stalking his students. Surf is ok, he and I had a falling out but I'm ok with him.

JMO mind you, I in no way try to think for the forum, I merely express my opinion.

By the way, you are lagging behind in your use of smilies. I would suggest you start exercising some usage...I'm sure the mods are monitoring you since you're a rook and all.

 

I can go back to Huzzah and throwout an invite if you like. I may not be received well because I've been gone a year. I'll tell you up front that huh? and bburnam will be like oil and water. huh? is on a mission to drive him away. bburnam is a rare sighting on the boards but I think I can facebook him.

Here's another angle, there is a large Braves and Cards population there (many from the old ESPN board, I mean the OLD espn board, before they retooled it) and they may not be willing to leave because of the bonds they have formed. The longshot would be to invite the entire population over here (which I think would not fly because of the whole 'territory' thing) and combine the two forums.

Or I can link you guys and let you explore the possibilities on your own.

I remember being on Huzzah for one week. I disagreed with a "veteran" poster (he was advocating trading Kemp for Johan Santana), I got jumped on like a piece of meat in front of a pack of wolves.

Some guy named jman or kman led the charge. Even signed off on his posts like

---The K Man.

It was pretentious as fuck. Especially when he was advocating trading Kemp or Ethier for Santana who could "teach" Kershaw as he was coming up.

Needless to say, I was kind of like fuck that noise. Went back to ESPN and despite trolls like Keith Hendricks, supercaptobvious and the dbacks troll whose name I forget...I actually enjoyed it more.

Still has nothing on DSP. Easily the best sports forum I've been a part of.

EDIT: Don't worry though, if anyone from Huzzah joins I will show them a hell of a lot more courtesy than I was shown.

 

K man is huh?, and he can be quite vociferous.

I have a hard time picturing him advocating trades though, he's usually not in the forefront of that type of posts. He's more of a guy who comments on proposals of others, like I am.

OP suggested the trade.

I said why would we trade our first legit five tool guy in decades for a SP (not really big on trading every day guys for pitchers, especially when they are established).

I was insulted.

I fired back.

huh? pm's me with who invited you, you have no fuckin idea what you're talking about. Basically if you're brand new you shouldn't talk shit etc. I was supposed to shutup while listening to their inane drivel.

He basically led the charge on making me feel unwelcome. Which is why I returned to ESPN.

 

Sounds about right, the attitude and all. Actually huh? can be quite reasonable, but others there are of the opinion that you are wrong no matter what, and must be ridiculed and stoned to death for punishment. I've had huh? both call me out and come to my defense, sometimes in the same post.

But the fact remains that the attitude there drove me away and I had posted with some of those guys since 2001.

 

I think we have enough activity and good posters here, no need to mess it up. If they're good posters they should be invited, if not, move on.

BLF, learn to welcome newbies with open arms as the rest of us have. Really. A bigger DSP pond is a better DSP pond.


I welcome Cooper and ALL of the ESPN and other guys. DSP has proven to be a very gracious sports forum because we don't chase people away for disagreeing. Mostly. If someone insists on being a douche there appear to be a quorum of DSP sports nuts who will calmly pull them aside to explain that.

So don't be a douche... attack a man's opinion and not the man and we'll all get along well enough.
