Really? Because all I kept seeing was people clamoring for Lee to get a shot, calling the FO out for not giving him a shot, etc....
I still think Lee can make a career in this league. I also think he was nervous as fuck, and w his fringy #4-#5 stuff it just didn't work out.
Initially, when I posted that I thought Lee was basically a dud, I was told how wrong I was and (I guess what I saw was a misinterpretation on my part); that's OK too, because being right isn't that important. Not at all. But I saw what I saw, and saw it all again last night..a dark day in LAD history. But damn, what does anyone see that this kid has that is ML worthy? Except as a back end SP rotation filler type for a bottom tier team? At best. No it's not his whole career, as written , but please someone tell me what thay see in him ? Obviously, trained BB people from a pitching historically top notch organization saw a first round draft pick in him, so what is it? He's around the plate? He can drop the No.2 over nicely sometimes, but what else does he have to set that up? I felt sorry for the kid...but BB is cruel much of the time.
That's exactly what you tell opposing teams when you try to include Lee in a trade in a few days. Lol
Essentially I don't get how that would have changed anything about the kid and what he comes with...being up earlier would help him how with below average velocity and very mediocre stuff in general ? I'm missing the logic I admit. If he wasn't ready last night, regardless of how long he's been down there, he shouldn't have pitched at all (hindsight here). Because what does this do to that kid's head...getting scrambled like that? Not good for him, and could be more of a setback than anything else could've been. That was excruciating to watch him get pummelled. A damn shame. He's a Los Angeles Dodger, too, no matter what.
You don't have to have great stuff to be good. What he does well that can allow him to have a career is that he throws strikes, doesn't allow him to beat himself. Their is a place for innings eating, strike throwers. (I suppose it's still possible he could make a mechanical tweak and have more upside too)
Ump seems to have a pretty wide strike zone, which is gonna make it hard to score today for both sides
Nomar: "Jimmy's bat speed seems to be much quicker right now" *immediately swings through 2 cheeseburger fastballs* lol
