Yup. Rendon essentially called the LAD org corny. Guy said a long time ago, that he doesn't even watch baseball on TV, so he's different. Doesn't shock me that he'd pass on the LAD BS. Is this not the org that goes out of their way to try and make fading Kershaw a hero in the postseason?

All the complaints LAD fans have for the choking players, the corny manager and his decisions, etc. and we don't expect the top tier FAs to find out about the fuckery and pass? Heh. Sad truth, but that's where LAD stands.

 

..And I'm pretty sure Kasten said last off-season, that LAD fans prefer homegrown kids over big free agents....which certainly makes LAD sound FA friendly. Lol Why would Rendon pass on that?

Some late night rumblings going on as I followed my wife around the Denver bar scene for her work Christmas party.

• The Indians are rumored to be close on a deal for Kluber. Teams have been getting notified that they are out (Angels being one). The Dodgers are one of the teams that is said to be involved at this time, but reports are varied on this. Heyman says the Dodgers are more interested in Lindor with others confirming that the club is having talks with the Indians, but it doesn’t sound like the Dodgers are involved unless it is something much bigger.

 

Lol, Rangers closing in on deal for Kluber

 

Kluber to Rangers is done. Jorge Castillo said Dodgers have not been in on Kluber for a while and are focused on Lindor with interest in Clevinger too.

 

He’s a wild card. He has some trends that are not great, but after a year off, who knows what could happen with his velo. He’s worth the risk for a team like the Rangers, but not something the Dodgers should have done.

 

Indians better be getting a lot more than what is initially being reported. A defense only 4th/5th OFer and a reliever(an admittedly good one) is still pretty fucking light for a pitcher of Kluber’s caliber.

Folks with ties to the Indians FO said that they are being told that this deal allows them to not have to move Lindor. Soon after I heard this, Cleveland GM Chris Antonetti came out and said that they envision Lindor being the opening day SS for the Indians. This saves the Indians $18M this year, which they expect to be enough to add a bat with.

 

This offseason has been fucking painful.
