0 pass rush, played safe when they had the lead, and just a mediocre team overall.

Carr is the 1st QB in NFL history to compete 90% of his passes while attempting more than 30 passes.
    And the RAIDERS still lose.
That's what happens in Denver..it's like Coors in MLB, dumb shit just happens there.

He probably gave what he had, definitely not easy playing in Denver, the thin air has been a real home field advantage for a long, long time.
Unless they trade for Earl Thomas and give this team a shot in arm, 0-2 is maybe too big a hole to dig out of.
Should maybe look into trading for Josh Gordon as well since Cleveland is reportedly going to trade him today.
The stark difference in the team in the 2nd halves of these games is pretty amazing, have to wonder if getting younger will help

Mike Singletary on his brother Vernon back in the day........

Vernon credits his former coach for saving his career.

I wouldn't go that far because Gordon is a head case and has had a weak career so far while Cousins albeit coming off an injury has been stellar. The Pats have made I heard 30 roster moves just for the WR's so they are thin. Josh will very much help but his addition IMHO will be problematic.

Cousins has definitely had the better career. I was talking talent and situation. Gordon was considered by many as the best WR in the game at one point and he's still fairly young. He'll have issues learning the Pats' system because it's overly complicated, so I doubt he'll help them a ton this year even with them being thin at WR right now.

The Gordon addition, much like Cousins/GSW, may not lead to much this season, but they could cash him in next year if he keeps his nose clean and realizes how much of a blessing it is for him to land with a great QB.

Key words "keep his nose clean." Highly doubt he does, I think the Pats are 1 - 1 on problematic additions in recent memory. Moss was a very good one and TO was horrible.

TO never played for the Patriots. You may mean Chad Johnson who struggled to pick up the system.

I hope you're right and he doesn't keep his nose clean because if he does Brady may play until he's 50. Gronk and Gordon is insane. Those two alone, forget Edelman.

Gordon should produce more than Johnson did. Johnson was older and never was very football smart, but they gave him a shot. Have to expect Gordon to prove to be better than the Johnson addition immediately, even though he probably won't be in position to really set it on fire until next season, as he familiarizes himself with their system

This maybe the first year for the Pats where the supporting cast is not the issue, but Brady’s ability to sustain his performance over the season.

Hadn't really thought about it this way, but if Brady and Belichick are warring maybe their issues have an impact on Gordon at the end of the day? This new book saying Brady " considered divorce " from Belichick, and we already know Belichick wanted to trade Brady and keep Garopollo. May be bad timing for Gordon. We'll see.

Between all the Steelers' in house drama and whatever's happening to the Patriots with Belichick/Brady, the AFC could be totally up for grabs in a year or two

No such thing as good timing for Gordon. He's a ticking time bomb.

The last time bomb NE had was Aaron Hernandez. Brady/Belichick functioning well at the time, ended up getting like 40 games/20 TDs out of Hernandez before he blew [no homo]

Hernandez' problems were well concealed. Gordon's have been out in the open.

I don't see the difference in public knowledge having an impact. Teams were warned about Hernandez behind the scenes and yet he was still on half the league's draft boards, still ended up being drafted by one of the better orgs in the league. Just like teams know about Gordon and his issues, yet 1/3 of the teams in the league were in contact with the Browns about acquiring Gordon here recently

Difference is, his character flaws aside, Hernandez was available to play. Gordon hasn't been.
