no offense doughty but to avoid clustering, I'm moving this into a winters meeting or new/rumors threads.. Keep it all in one place, we're gonna read alot about teams interested in this and that

Fair enough. I saw the Kemp thread which is why I put it in a separate thread.

I predict we leave the winter meetings with 2 relievers, Juan Uribe, and a random white dude for the bench

    • The White Sox are in the process of trying to bring Juan Uribe back to Chicago, reports David Vassegh of FOX Sports 570 AM Radio in Los Angeles (on Twitter). Uribe would fill a need for the Sox, though as GM Rick Hahn told me at last week's GM Meetings, his team prefers left-handed bats.

    • The Dodgers have made their interest in David Price known to the Rays, reports Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times. However, Hernandez feels that Price is a "long shot" to end up in Dodger Blue. For one, the Dodgers lack the type of impact, MLB-ready prospects the Rays will covet, as their top chips are teenagers Corey Seager and Julio Urias. Beyond that, dealing names like Seager and Urias would go against their desire to rebuild what has become a depleted farm system.

i'd like to see it happen just so i could witness how our new ownership/Kasten deals with it. we'll live without him. love to get a tougher out in the order OR improve our defense up the middle...Stephen Drew? maybe an Ethier/cash for either Nick Franklin or Brad Miller deal ( probably the best we can do)

they wanna keep Uribe, but you always wonder what kind of effect it'd have on Puig. Puig needs to grow up...could he grow up a little quicker if Uribe weren't around? or is Uribe helping Puig's maturation? it's a fine line.

^Drew is tied to draft pick compensation so he's a no. There are 2 rumors about how many years Uribe wants, 2 or 3 so 2 would be best for us. Come on Juan be realistic!

i just don't see a lot of other 3b options
uribe would be great on a 1yr or 1yr+ option
but if it's 2 years (guaranteed) or more, let him go
    idk

yeh, that's why i was saying they'd moreso look to get a better defensive guy at SS and move Hanley over to 3B.

Dodgers and Seattle should be able to work something out involving Ethier and either Brad Miller or Nick Franklin...both are SS and Cano's there long term so somebody has to go. and it's not like Seattle is hurting for money, but in all fairness Ethier's on his way down, so i'd give them cash on two of his years...no more than say 34M. if Ethier and 34M can buy you a Brad Miller...do that. we need somebody that can grow into a Matt Carpenter-type.

i'm with you. i want a happy Hanley too. but if it's better for the team, he can't call himself a leader if he goes against what improves us. and i think he's tryin to be a leader...he took a big step in that direction when he played injured for us against STL anyway.
