Is there going to be anybody left to sign? This year seems so odd that most of the major players have already signed, weird.

A Joc Pederson for Nick Franklin trade would be nice.

Realistically, it sounds like Uribe again. I'd be good with that for now - just because of the glove. Even a Uribe two year deal shouldn't stop us from exploring other infield options though.

Well IMO we won't be trading for David Price I can almost guarantee it. With Cano on board I think the Mariners become front runners for Price. I have a feeling that Napoli might go there 1st to play 1st and then Smoak in a package for Price.

We re-sign Ellis and Uribe, other than that nada.

It's sounding more and more like the new posting system has gutted the leverage, and motive, to make a guy available for MLB teams. The owner of Tanaka's team just said this morning that NPB is not a farm or feeder league for MLB.

20M is nothing, if you were the Ratuken Eagles would you keep your best player, win make millions from marketing him, or sell him on for 20M?

For us I don't think a major move in on our horizon. I don't think Kemp will be traded or any OF'er for that matter. I can see Uribe re-signing like you wrote but that is it unfortunately.

Actually in Japan the thinking is that if you can keep guys going to the best league in the world and become successful there that it only helps the NPB. Us Japanese like to be tested against the best. Now in the Eagles owners mind it's easy to say that when your not the team losing your player but because they are directly involved it makes it hard to let go. Can you as an Eagle owner think he'll continue that kind of dominance? Hard to top that year or even come close to that year. Also remember this is a Corporation who owns the team and they are required to get approval from shareholders I believe.

I expect a lot of talk about Kemp, but nothing will be done. Would be thrilled with an Ethier for Miller/Franklin deal with the Mariners. Our middle infield would be potentially set for the next 4-5 years.

Uribe on a 2yr deal...nothing more. bring Marky Ellis back as well for stability.

i still wanna see us grab another high-end starter...whether it's Price or Tanaka...i don't care. with Tanaka we'd be taking a chance because of the way they use him over there...throwing 160 pitches some nights. with Price we'd have to give up some prospects. either way there's some risk involved, but the GuggenGods haven't disappointed thus far. make it rain, GuggenGods.

it's gonna be set anyway because of Guerrero/Hanley(maybe Seager), right?

Don't see Hanley sticking at SS for another 4-5 years when he has already said this off season that he would make the move to 3B if the team needed him too. All signs also point to Seager being a 3B, but it is far too early to say that he is lock to even make it to the bigs.

I didn't say that at all, just saying you can never pencil in a prospect for a lineup 2-3 years before he'll be up, not to mention when we aren't even sure what position he will play. It'd be nice to get a player like Miller or Franklin for Ethier, as they would both be great controllable assets at a position we are fairly weak at in terms of depth. Do I expect us to be able to get either of those for Ethier, probably not, but it'd be nice.

The Mariners' projected lineup even with Cano sucks donkey balls. I'm sure they'll try to get Cruz/Kemp and Price.

If I were them, I'd try to get Choo, Kemp and wait until late and resign Morales or Ibanez at a good price. Their front 2 is already very solid, yes adding Price would make that a sick 3, but I doubt Price sticks around beyond the 2 years. Take your chances with Walker for 6 years.

If I were Seattle I'd trade Franklin, Miller, King Felix, Cano, T. Walker, Zunino, Kyle Seager, and 240M to the Dodgers for Carl Crawford.

Before reading this thread I really didn't have any ideas what might happen but after reading it came to me that it could actually point the team in the opposite direction. Meaning taking established talent/current prospects and rolling it over into viable prospects to perhaps carry the team into the 3-4 years down the road beyond existing contracts. In that light it would make sense to deal an outfielder (still not sold on that) or upper level prospect for lower level high ceiling prospects to load the farm quicker with higher grade talent than we might through the draft.

It's already been said that management is reluctant to rape the system for a Price type player so wouldn't it make sense to inject the system with young talent at the expense of some established player and/or near-ready prospect? Maybe I'm loony, IDK.
