God, do i hope you're wrong when it comes to Mattingly's status should we miss the post season. i think they let him dwindle enough last off-season to show that they would go another direction and were at least pondering it. me..i don't see any wrong with an Ozzie Guillen hire. been saying it for a while, but these motherfuckers need a fire lit under their asses and with all the latin flavor in the locker room and on the way up, a Guillen hire might play. plus Uribe is a Guillen guy and would likely be a good cop when Ozzie's ridin guys and it's needed. just keep Uribe on as a bench coach after he retires. it'd be another big name hire, but he's also a smart baseball guy..far smarter than Donnie Dum Dum. would love to see Ozzie ruffle some feathers and what if he were able to mentor Dee and get him over the hump @ shortstop? i know one thing..we won't be gettin bullied by the Cards and everybody else anymore with Ozzie in the dugout. and if not Ozzie, then somebody else, but Mattingly cannot return if we miss the post season.
yea, the funny thing about these motherfluffers is that they're mad at us because we complain about the team..yet all they do is COMPLAIN ABOUT US COMPLAINING ABOUT THE TEAM..hypocritical bitches. which would you rather be? a fan that complains about the team and is genuinely concerned?..or a fan that complains about the fanbase's complaining/concern about a scuffling ball club with a month left in the regular season? me..i'm more concerned with the team. i mean none of you guys are on the mound or in the batter's box, so naturally i'd rather curse the guys who are underachieving instead of fight with fans who are complaining about people's behavior after a loss. these team-moms kill me. we see eye to eye, Blue..most of the time we do.
btw, and i know this doesn't belong here, but some of us had a pretty good idea about the Dodgers going and grabbing Adam Dunn for the bench power bat that Colletti talked about getting.. A’s Closing In On Deal For Adam Dunn By Steve Adams [August 31, 2014 at 9:30am CDT] 9:30am: The A’s are closing in on a trade for Dunn, Olney tweets. and before this last tweet.. 8:34am: Meanwhile, ESPN’s Buster Olney hears that the Dodgers are still in discussion with the White Sox on Dunn (Twitter link). " Kasten's done with the washed up guys!! " - some fool
It's not an "optimism" thing for me. Think whatever you want about the Dodgers. Idgaf. Doesn't mean you have to be an incompetent douche about it though. We lose two games and people are wanting Urias to be called up and the world is ending. Just saying that those are the type of fans that Petriello, Eric Stephen, and them gladly shit on all the time. I draw the line when people are mocking other people. Just leave it to the Dodgers.
well, i've wanted the best lefty we have in the minors to get the September call up for a while, so these 2 losses have shit to do with it. most scouts say he can get outs in the show right now, so it's really that simple. we lost out on Andrew Miller and we need lefty help in the bullpen. i have no idea who those people are and really i don't care. again, i'm more concerned with the team.
10:45am: Bruce Levine of 670thescore.com reports (via Twitter) that the A’s will pay about $1.2MM of the remaining $2.5MM on Dunn’s contract. Dunn will join the A’s tomorrow, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle tweets. 10:38am: The A’s have acquired Adam Dunn from the White Sox in exchange for minor league pitcher Nolan Sanburn, the team announced. Though the A’s were on his limited no-trade clause, word broke this morning that Dunn, who has never played in the postseason, was willing to waive that clause in order for a chance to win. we lose in trade negotiations again. could've been the end of Ethier..
this team is heartless, without passion and it's a direct reflection of their limp-dicked manager i could give the offense an excuse friday against a guy like cashner but -- with greinke finally looking like himself again (albeit against the worst offensive team in the nl) -- all we can muster against ian fucken kennedy is one measly run??? and did these docile ckunts somehow forget that this was the guy that drilled two of them -- in the head -- not so long ago? fucken spineless assholes good teams find a way to win... we're finding ways to lose
Broxton just landed with the Brewers. i know we still hate him, but yea..our bullpen is just THAT bad off.
I agree with irish. I love the team, but their lack of fighting back has me concerned. They just seem to give up and give bad at bats. Still a month left for them to figure it out, but we shouldn't have to be figuring much out at this point. Playoffs are still a crapshoot, and momentum will be the deciding factor, but this team needs a fire lit under them if they want to go all the way. Our pitching isn't going to always save us. See last years NLCS. Same old song and dance: offense needs to step it up.
Dodgers Lineup: CF Puig SS Ramirez 1B Gonzalez RF Kemp LF Van Slyke 3B Uribe C Ellis 2B Barney P Ryu Hope leadoff gets Puig going.
the team lacks an emotional leader i know how most feel about kirk gibson, and i don't necessarily disagree but in 1988 he single-handedly put that team on his back and led them to a championship there was no way in hell that team should have beaten the mets, let alone the mighty a's and anyone on that '88 team will tell you, it was because of gibson they won and i'm not just talking about the dramatic hr, he was the true mvp -- of both the dodgers and the national league
aj batting ahead of barney is ridiculous edit: aj batting ahead of barney and ryu is ridiculous re-edit: aj batting ahead of anyone is ridiculous re-re-edit: aj batting is ridiculous
Love seeing Yasiel at the top. Super happy to see Uribe back in there, Hanley still in there and SVS in their. Add to that, HAAAADUKEN, Ryu is back!
