I am beyond stoked to not see Beltran on the Cards roster this season. We can beat these guys! The bats need to come alive early and let Kersh do his thing.
You know why it pisses me off? Because I'd love to be at these games but the Dodgers make it impossible to get tickets at face value directly from the team. So many (like me) can't afford to just pick up tickets and go. Instead of selling face value tickets they contract with ticket agencies and are left with empty seats. People don't want to pay a 100 bucks to sit out by the foul pole or the last row of the Pavilion. I know I don't. It's all so stupid Imo. "Buy a mini plan or get season tickets for a chance to register for post season tickets". That's why 55k can't go.
there has to be a way to get some of those empty seats for cheap around 2 hours before game time... the resellers want to sell them, and if they think they wont be able to, they will try to get whatever is possible...
DBB has some openings on his roster. They might be deciding between the extra position player or arm... I created a "roster prediction" threat...
I'm thinking that Fat Uribe suits up as the Asst Mgr and we grab a couple more BP arms... DBB can continue dumpster diving without having to attend those pesky baseball games
The Cardinals have 3 LOOGYs on their roster so SVS has his time to shine, and only time Ethier will probably get an at bat is against Rosenthal (cause I'm assuming any other pinch hitting opportunity for him not in the 9th will be countered with a LOOGY which Ethier should never face. So Ethier vs. Rosenthal and SVS vs. The LOOGY's should be their focus I'm getting ahead of myself though. Lets fuck them up to the point where the later innings don't matter
sounds like Joc and FedEx are traveling with the team in the NLDS, but aren't going to be on the roster. for experience purposes
I understand the pitching situation made the roster decisions harder, but I'm not a proponent of waiting too long to get your playoff roster set. I think it doesn't give the players enough time to get in the right frame of mind if your on edge of the cutting room floor.
I'd say that makes sense for your pitching rotation. But for both the Dodgers and Cards, I don't think any lineup would have changed the decision about who to start. BTW, of course I'm assuming that Mattingly didn't already tell the team the playoff roster and was just not making it public until later.
