If we don't get Zack. Both Friedman and his Paki pal need to be fired.

    Then again.

There is Latos and a few scrubs coming off of injuries.

    • Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that the Braves might be waiting until Zack Greinke makes a decision before determining whether or not they should move Miller. Greinke is said to be choosing between San Francisco and L.A., so it stands to reason that whichever club loses out on Greinke could show an increased willingness to part with talent to land Miller.
    miller is a good pitcher
but let's not kid ourselves... he's not on the same level as zack, price or cueto
losing zack to the giants and then having to part with players/prospects to get an inferior pitcher would be devastating
    stop being cheap bkitches

Irish closed this before I could reply, but the only loser of those two that could have a chance at getting Miller is the Dodgers. The Giants farm is pretty bare right now and they do not have the impact potential player to trade to make this deal happen unless they have someone from the big league club that they are willing to move, which it does not sound like they are up to doing.

Jim Bowden ( I know, he's a jackass) just said on MLB radio that he's hearing that teams may be willing to go to 3 years for Lackey. If that is the case, my interest in him as a guy to slot in behind Greinke(if he returns) becomes zero.

Lackey hates the west coast. Don't think he'd come here.

Don't want that redneck heyseed anyways.

Our FO is not a joke just because they don't show their cards or say what this board and the Dodger fans of this world want to hear. Will it be a horrible development that they don't get Zack hell yes but I do believe that they will out bid the hated ones. Magic won't let that happen.

    • Price, one of top pitchers on the market with Zack Greinke, was ready to sign with the Cardinals, but then the final push began. The Red Sox were also in negotiations with Greinke, according to a high-ranking team official who asked not to be identified due the sensitive nature of negotiations. Greinke’s representative, Casey Close, told Red Sox president Dave Dombrowski that he wanted an answer by Tuesday night on whether the team would agree to Greinke’s contract proposal.
if the cards were in on price until the sox swooped in
you'd have to presume they're in on zack as well
and where the fuck are we in all of this?
oh that's right, (according to farhan) we have enough alternatives so there's no time pressure on our part
since the season ended, i predicted we wouldn't sign either [zack or price]
    we're halfway there

It may very well be that Fuc-han said that because we are NOT in the running for Grienke.....that he doesnt want to stay, and the Dodgers are not willing to pay enough to change his mind.

Which would be one of the biggest failures of this FO. Bigger than blowing a chance to make a big move before the trade deadline this past season.

and, if that's the case, not being in on price is inexcusable
hopefully there's more going on behind closed doors than we're privy to
but if we miss out on price and zack and then (instead) ship players/prospects for an inferior pitcher it'll be pretty disappointing

Can't believe anything the nerds say. It is more likely to believe the exact opposite of what they say.
"Dee Gordon is our second baseman"
Day later he is traded to Miami
Just one example of instances they are talking with deception.

I agree and then we get to see their "alternatives".

Praying to Allah that every injured pitcher becomes miraculously healthy and CY Young contenders.

There are no alternatives with Grainkey, Price and Zimmerman off the board. If Miller is an option they would be forced to pull a Ned out of desperation and get raped.

No Puig deal will probably send Zack packing and piss of Kershaw.

At this point it's a clueless FO lacking the sack needed to pull a fucking trigger.

    They're smart.

Book smart which means Jack shit to most people.

    They have nerd IQ's

    BFD.

The GM that got us our last ring was a fucking sportswriter prior to.

If Grainkey leaves. We will eventually know why because he speaks his mind. And that won't bode well for our unimpressive front office.

Let us not forget sticking with DDD for one season when they could have had Maddon.

But I am happy with Roberts. It'll be a shame he won't have pitching to work with.

Which is probably why they were so eager to retain Honeycutt since he can build a Sequoia with pieces of petrified shit.

You don't get millionaires to come together and not even assure them the'll turn a profit without having a huge influence. Cards won't go 5 years. It's between us and the Gnats IMHO. Is it my imagination or are a couple posters already giving up on the FO after we were delivered out of McCourt hell by them after only a year plus?

    Dombrowski doin damage.
    Kimbrel and Price.
    Nice package.
I knew they wouldn't be denied on Price or Greinke, but I thought it'd be Greinke going to Boston.
Looks like they were in there as well.
Boston had to get an ace to the point beating out CK's deal
I wonder if LAD tapped out at 7/215MM for Price out of respect to CK

    Not really I don't think.
Price has that player option after the 3rd year and Zack represents more of a risk as a signing because he's older and won't have that option as a team friendly escape.
The Giants signing Greinke would be as Olney put it a leap of faith, I feel the same about the Cards.
I think I feel pretty good about our chances of keeping Zack now
Keep an eye out for some mystery team like the Angels comin outta nowhere with some silly deal because they need pitching and they blow money with the best

I don't know what Farhan said that it causing some of you to flip your shit, but if I may quote Aaron Rodgers, "R-E-L-A-X, RELAX". Even if Zack isn't brought back, their are plenty of young and controllable starters who are pretty freaking good (we all know the names) that can be had for the right price due to the depth of the farm, and that would allow for financial flexibility to upgrade somewhere in the field.

That being said, we know NOTHING, no indication has been given to us whether he will stay or go, and media quotes (if that is the cause for panic) from an executive not a week prior to the winter meetings are not basis for panic when they contradict everything anyone who knows anything about baseball would think.
