Kruk I cannot stand. He is a huge homer, especially when you hear him talk post game or in the morning shows. Kuipe I actually like. He is more thoughtful, measured and actually funny. Ray Ratto is hilarious....he should really get his own radio show.
I thought they were competent, too, and that Kuiper was the top in that duo, as Chief wrote. The one time they really put me off is when one of them (don't know which) went off on Guerrero when he got pissed AB making out and was yelled at by Scumgarden... Something like " just sit down meat...you're not good enough to react like that to a great pitcher getting you out. Thought it was low class stuff and never felt the same about them after that.
Both are good at what they do as play by play (Kuiper) and Krukow (analyst, especially pitching). But both are over the top homers, especially Krukow.
Over the top..agreed. But I do like a little homer...just a little. I like to feel like the guy I'm listening to is feeling the joy or agony, too, as we all are. The detachment of total non homerism reeks of mercenary, imo. It is the essence of sport, or at least a major part of it, to have some kind of attachment.
