He's arguably better to Grandal so your overblown, self-important opinion is pretty much worthless...

I'm grateful to Walter O'Malley for bringing the team west, but you're right. Just google a picture of him. He legit looks like a villain in a movie who's trying to level a kids' playground to build a skyscraper or something.

Yeah, Idt it's the same degree either, the point being, an FO will do what it thinks is best, no matter who doesn't like it.
Piazza, LoDuca, etc., moves made by different FOs over the years. People don't like it, but it still will happen.

Yeah, the eyes are freaky sneaky.
Fat, the cigar, the whole thing. He said whatever he had to to get what he wanted, and came time to pony up, he would use the " anyone would be glad to have your job..be thankful you've got it" tack.
His word was not his bond.

He basically is, we're just on the fortunate side of it. Can you imagine how diehard Brooklyn fans felt about what happened? I shudder to eve think for intellectual purposes what it would be like if our ownership just up and moved the Dodgers across the country somewhere to maximize a bottom line. Almost unthinkable.

I haven't looked but I'm sure the Philly fans are reeling the same ways, maybe even more.

Interesting point...never thought of that. Whatever, it is what it is...just not lookin' for a less effective Kershaw seems the big deal of it all.
But maybe there is more...we'll find out. Or maybe not.

Each article I come across by the Dodgers' hacky team of beat writers is more nauseating than the last

I didn't even read the Dylan Hernandez article. Guy is a hack. It's one thing for fans to overreact but be a journalist, man.

I'm reposting this cause I'm an attention whore, but look at this quote from Roy Halladay about Carlos Ruiz:

"Chooch was the little engine that could for a team loaded with big names, but no player was more valuable to the team as a whole than Carlos! He was so humble and grateful, you couldn't help but just want to do anything for him including win! He flawlessly handled one of the greatest pitching staffs ever assembled and was just as important offensively, as well. It was nothing short of miraculous that he could handle so many different personalities and approaches on a day-to-day basis the way that he did. He was the best catcher I've ever thrown to and, in my opinion, the best catcher in baseball in the years I was with him. It's going to be sad to see him without a Phillies uniform on and not seeing him sitting in his chair in the clubhouse with a smile. And just the way the fans treated Chase last week, Chooch is also deserving of that hero's welcome. They are my two favorite players of all-time as well as favorite teammates. I was fortunate to have both of them in the clubhouse. I want to wish good luck to Carlos. Maybe one day when we're old and gray we can come back to Philly!!"

No one doesn't think Chooch is a good guy, he just obviously won't be the clubhouse presence a guy who's been with the organization for 12 years will be. It's like AJ Ellis for the Phillies.

Yaz is better than Chooch against LHP, and will still start in the playoffs and in every big game against LHP. That's not really a viable argument.

If you expect Grandal to sit against all lefties, especially in the post season...you might be mistaken. Could be right but idk

darth i havent read the article but that chart you posted screams that he is actually better pitching to Grandal.
ERA is the same for both but things like walks and strikeouts are way in favor of Grandal.
