Worried about both for sure, especially the latter. We saw it when he 1st came up, umps squeezing him on clear cut strikes, probably because of some right of passage BS. Well, hopefully, he's passed that now in their eyes and he can get a decent zone. Or does it start all over in the post season..does the treatment reset in October? Smh Fuck it, get it out the way this year, so we can all move on and just let him live next season.
My thought is that umpires by the playoffs stop fucking around with the kids as the games in the regular season are not as widely viewed and publicly ridiculed. With that said, umpiring tonight is Angel Hernandez who is regarded as one of the worst umpires in the game, which is what has me all sorts of worried.
I've watched this multiple times and honestly, I don't see a balk. Maybe it's the Dodger fan in me, but I'm trying to be objective. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/m...urias-filthy-pickoff-move-before-nlcs-game-4/
He's making those calls for both teams. You're guys are reading waaaaaaaaaaay too much into this umpire stuff.
If a team that was shutout two times in a row after having the 2nd highest OPS and runs scored in the NL, is preoccupied with our pitcher balking even though they only stole 66 bases this year... then I like where their heads are at.
Oh FFS, not Hernandez Hopefully the big stage means the games are over, but Hernandez, like you said, is just bad in general
My one and only Chicago road trip ended about 6:30 am on Rush St. Woke up at 8 am. Unfortunately my flight was at 8 am. That was a very expensive buzz.
As much as I would love to win this without having to go back to Chicago, I also don't fear Wrigley. If we should get out to a 4 run lead in a closeout game the eerie silence of Wrigley would be inspiring - not quite like Dodger Stadium rocking, but not a bad consolation prize. Either way, I just want to win this. 2 more wins. However, wherever we have to get them.
Clay is also a known racist and troll on twitter. One of the worst personalities out there. Don't waste your time.
LAD is potentially gonna be facing off with this Cubbie team for WS appearances for the foreseeable future. A 1st round knock down against a potential post season rival going forward would be pretty nice
When I watched the bad call at 1st I thought to myself "Where is Angel Hernandez tonight?" sure as shit 1B. At least he got overturned. That fuck has had it out for us for years, if he's at the plate then Urias is in trouble. The rookie is going to get a shoebox for a strike zone
FWIW please recall that one of those appearances against the Cubs was his 2nd MLB start or something like that. Interesting that Seager has never faced Lackey??
Well the odds makers did it at least at Bovada, (said the same thing who?) They put us 7 - 5 favorites and NOT the Cubs. This is going to be the MOST nerve racking game for me tonight man. I WANT this game real bad!!!!! ray:ray:ray:ray:ray:ray:
Closing thoughts on last nights game: Grandal was due. He's still due. Seager is a stud. Look out next year. Utley and Joc need to be thrown 50 right handed curves in a row until they figure out what to do with them. Puig's 2 for 2 is also overdue. We could use him getting his mojo back. Reddick and Puig both performing gives us a RF issue as they both need AB's but Toles needs AB's as well because he rocks them Blister boy Hill throws a 2 hitter and deserves props Now it's the kid Urias duty to show a third 2 hit start in a row Which will be tough with Angel's shoebox strike zone Good game overall and Hill stepped up big time when we needed him. I'm feeling good that Urias is up to the challenge but sure as hell wish Angel wasn't behind the plate Nice to be up 2-1 when we were tossed under the bus by everyone Be nicer to be 3-1... with Kershaw in the wings
if your lead foot goes behind the rubber it's a balk can't tell for sure from the angles i've seen but [at the very least] it's close and tbh a really tough call for the umpires watching it live as for this series, any crew with angel hernandez on it is destined to fuck something up sooner or later let's just hope it's in our favor
I'm no Stephen fan about 25% of the time but I didn't see what he said that has you riled up. Just curious.
Easy man you'll have a heart attack. He said the rest Kershaw got due to the injury is working in his favor because he's not tired, seems inane to me. Then he said the Cubs are going to break out of it eventually which is my fear and the fear of most Dodger fans I believe. Hopefully they'll find it in ST next year.
what an imbecile cubs are a "cute" story and nothing more young fans and casual fans like winners, not one year wonders the only people who care about the cubs are cubs fans
