Apparently Dave was on the radio today and from what I gathered, it doesn't sound TOO serious. Though they may not have had the full report yet. He will be going on the DL as they believe he is out at least 4 or 5 days
Almost certainly is right, we just saw Boras guy Strasburg sign an extension worth 175M before FA, and then the expectation is that something will get done between Boras guy Bryant and the Cubbies before his UFA year after the 2021 season. But lets say the wealthy Cubbies slow play Bryant for some god awful reason..Trout will set the bar after the 2020 season and then Boras will be looking to eclipse that the following year with Bryant. So the closer we get to Trout´s FA year, the better chance there probably is that Bryant would make it to his FA year without a long term extension. It´s more than likely too late for DC though
Mother fucker... Taylor 2B Seager SS Gutierrez LF Hernandez 3B Barnes C Puig RF Bellinger 1B Eibner CF Wood P
Yup we get to see that extra value that Forsythe brings as a guy that can step into any IF spot He can play some SS too Gonna give him a little run at 3B in Rancho to warm him up
Being honest, with Strasburg's injury history, that extension is a no-brainer for him. For Harper to sign an extension early it would have to be a deal that shatters the record. He's already set for life now with the early arbitration buyout, so the Nats don't even have that as leverage. So unless Harper LOVES DC...
Great. It's one of those lineups. Fucking Kike hitting cleanup? Barnes hitting 5th? These guys put way too much into the whole lefty/righty matchup thing. Just play the game or make a fucking adjustment. Good lord.
Don't really understand the complaints about the lineup. Kikè has an .870 OPS against LHP, Barnes .830, with both Grandal and Pederson hitting horribly against them this year. Not to mention that Pederson in general has looked like shit this season.
It's not a lineup fans pay good money to see on a Friday night. That's all I'm saying. Not criticizing Dave or anyone else. This is probably the best group of guys they could field tonight and it's the right thing to do. Doesn't mean it's entertaining. Can't wait until the rebuild is complete and we hopefully have a group of position players capable of playing every day.
No kidding, .912 OPS. Bellinger being low is understandable since he is K' 30% of the time against LHP even though when he makes contact, it seems to find a hole.
Honestly, I would not get my hopes up for that ever happening with this FO. Sure it would be great to have the best 8 guys out there day in and day out, but those players are not easy to come by. This FO is all about putting the best guys they can on the field on a given night. So we will probably see platoons for at least the next 5+ years.
