At this point, I think the Rams really need to let go and play a vertical game. Some deep strikes and the lead, then Gurley can take the lead. Just my 2 cents. This isn't the time to be timid.
Dropped passes, turnovers, missed tackles, bad run defense... Tough match up. The 4 seed would've been a better path but either way they weren't going far. Just not there yet.
I'm actually not surprised, but I think the game plan was also the problem. But both the coach and QB are young, so they have time to grow. Word of advice though, don't sit all your first time playoff starters thinking the last game of the season is a throwaway game. That might be true for the Patriots, but not the Rams. They don't deserve the "right" to lose any game. They do t deserve that. I thought that was a short sighted move against the 49ers and who knows what kind of game preparation and & mental momentum they would have had going into their first post season game with a win against an up and coming NFC West foe. Whatever. Atlanta is going to lose their next game, and this season will still be a question mark.
Falcons looked like a team that made a Super Bowl run a year ago and Rams looked like one which hadn't been there in ages. Rookie head coach and a lot of young players still have some growing to do.
Worked in Santa Ana for a year. My goodness the Ducks flags. I will never have the emotional attachment for the Rams that I do for the Dodgers. Not even close. I loathe the NFL too, mostly. But I'm glad they're back in LA and hope they're successful.
