Not very many, if any at all.
His resurgence is wonderful for us and him, but I don't think it is something that will continue on into the future for too, too long. I'd be satisfied with a great 2018.
He looks comfortable and more disciplined AB than he ever did, and squares it up really top notch, but tracks fly balls oddly and doesn't exactly inspire confidence out there..but hanging in there in LF so far, I would say.
He is morphing into a prototypical AL DH, and could be a great one, imo.

 

Centerpiece of some trade. Seattle was thrown out there a little while back as a team that could have interest in Kemp since they'd moved Dee to 2B to replace the suspended Cano. If LAD's plan was to flip Kemp at some point in the year, likely given their comments about a motivated Kemp helping a lot of teams, it'd probably be impossible to find a better opportunity than right now to move him considering his injury filled past, eventual decline, mercurial nature, etc. A playoff thirsty team out there like Seattle calls with interest in Kemp, LAD would be wise to at least listen and give it consideration before MLB suspends him Lol

 

I get what you are saying, and I am stoked for Matt's production right now, but he was legit one of the worst players in baseball from 2015-2017. "What could have been" would have been endless frustration, most likely.

Trading him was the right move at the time as it allowed us to get cheaper and more athletic up the middle (Grandal, Pederson and eventually Seager). Our catching corps was crap at the time too, and Grandal has been a nice bridge to whichever prospect takes over.

Kemp would've been the same uninspired player he was in SD and ATL if he stayed. Crawford was unmovable at the time and left field became a decent platoon in subsequent seasons that gave umexpecting players an opportunity to comtribute.

I think Matt saw the grass isn't greener and was motivated to get in shape and improve his defense, attitude, etc.

Let's enjoy this while it lasts. He's a fan favorite who is playing extremely well and is a big reason why we are not in last place. But he's still expensive and cannot be expected to play this well for the duration of his contract.

That's not to rip Matt. At least he's earning SOME of his millions. Unlike Mccarthy, Kazmir, and a bunch of other hacks.

 

Thrilled with his production and his apparent change in attitude (and waistline).

But the 2018 Dodger fan in me is awaiting the inevitable injury. He looks like Fred Sanford (no racist) running the bases and settling under fly balls.

I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

 

Sounds like Dave is open to sending Belli down. Not sure if it would help.

Taking him out of that game woke him up a little bit, but then he regressed. Maybe some AAA humble pie will net us a strong finish?

 

Nosler wrote on TrueBlue LA that the move to the outfield may be a contributing factor as well, but idk.

I'm down for whatever gets Cody back to being decent at baseball. It's like...you can add Machado and a reliever, but if Bellinger sucks, the lineup will sag in the middle

Until Toles is back from injury Belli stays up, who do you bring up Verdugo? From what I saw from him in an albeit brief big league stint I don't believe in him and it's not like Belli has been awful unlike Joc (til yesterday). A day off more often could be the ticket just like today. Another month of this then I'd lean toward demotion.

They're both still as inconsistent and frustrating as ever and I don't see that changing.
