Jeremy Jeffress, Blake Treinen, Zach Britton, Craig Kimbrel... pretty good regular season relievers who have been knocked around some in the post. Point is, we can expect perfection from Jansen, but in reality the playoffs are a whole 'nother animal.
I expect a pro to be able to waste a pitch with an 0-2 count. What happened with Jansen and Marwin Gonzalez last year was amateur hour. Bottom line
And Blanton in the postseason the year before..same shit. 0-2 count and he can't simply waste a pitch like hundreds of minor league relief pitchers would be able to do. There's no excuse
" Can anyone beat the Yankees? " " Stanton and Judge the new murderer's row " Yankees ripped 20-4 @ home
Good for CC Sabathia for calling out Angel Hernandez...tat " he shouldn't be anywhere near a playoff game. He's a bad umpire". He is; has been for a long time.I couldn't care less who won or lost that game, but what's right is right. And whether or not you agree or disagree with his pitch calling last night, it does address the overall inept performances we see all too often from these guys. Something should definitely be done about it...and maybe I'm way too much for going at HoF mgr., Joe Torre, if he's in charge of them, then fucking do the right thing. Its your job, you stroonst. Damn, how hard can it be to compile a tape of individual failures when there is a superimposed strike zone just about every game? There's challenges every game played, plenty of overturning all he time, proving how often they suck. Hernandez especially. So...wtf??? Porcello, who grew up down the road from where I live now, should shut his fucking mouth and take his victory with some decorum and class. Be happy. His response to CC was high douchebaggery.
Boston definitely looks legit. Although, they do have some questionable areas. Sale and Price have had their share of struggles in OCT so it actually wouldn't shock me if HOU smacked them around some. And Houston has been very beatable at home this season for whatever reason. The way I see it, all the shit we gave the Dodgers this year for their underachieving performance was warranted, but at the end of the day LAD still has a ton of talent and Houston barely won that fuckin WS last year with LAD just choking it over to them for the most part. Both Houston and Boston went out in the offseason looking to get significantly better and maybe because they know the Dodgers should have won that WS last year easily. So I don't know that I agree with the talking head or disagree, but I just know LAD has the talent give both of those teams some problems..if they play up to their potential. And don't choke.
We could trade Verdugo, Joc and some surplus minor leaguers for Goldy and move Muncy to LF and Bellinger to CF. 2B: Seager 3B: Turner 1B: Goldschmidt LF: Muncy SS: Machado CF: Bellinger/Taylor RF: Puig/Kike C : Grandal/Rookie
35 steals, 5 caught stealing Only 15HR because he changed his swing to become more of a slap hitter that uses his motor to get him lots of singles and legged out doubles. Vs lefties and in one of the first two spots in the lineup the guy puts up a nice slash line of .290, .360, .400 With that speed it gets the job done nicely. He can play a mediocre CF, SS, 2B, and 3B though. Not a real good defender anywhere. I prefer Kike and we have Taylor but if we lost one of those two you know I would be calling for Villar to become our new utility man extraordinaire. Too bad he was sent to the Maryland gulag known as the Orioles.
