Trading prospects when their value is at the lowest may not be a good thing. It could be your organization screws them up or doesn't enable them to reach their potential.
Carlos Santana has been decent, not great this year... and I've always thought that he WAS expendable at the moment and the return was good... Joel Guzman was supposed to be a monster, and he's not even playing... Meloan, bust... and I cant remember another "prospect" we have traded... that's how GOOD they have been...
dont know why people keep mentioning hart, he was never an option at all . i think waiver trades gonna be popular unless of curse gms dont look to cockblock
it's ok though SF has a good staff. Nats have a good staff, and if they shut down Stras, they come down to the pack a little bit but the Braves, Pirates, Reds, DBacks staffs aren't that scary man. we could hang talking about the dodgers not winning a playoff series this early is crazy anyways. 2 months
Sorry guys, I tried to pull this off before 1pm but the Phils wanted too much. Not to worry; I'll claim him when they put him on waivers, fo sho I'm rich bitch!!!!!!!!!!
Did you guys mention Pirate All Star Joel Hanrahan? 4-0 and 31 saves at this point and a beast. http://pittsburgh.pirates.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=430629
Just sorta ironic and not making anything of it but the stat that Hanrahan and Broxton have 54 saves between them. The Nats gave up on Hanrahan also but that happens with roster limitations. That is where the really tough decisions have to be made. I am sure we will get much better with it as the new owners will be adding the staff to monitor, scout and sign top young talent and know what we have and what other teams have. McCheap cut all of that back.
I hate Victorino but he solves the lead off and LF problem. HanRam fixes the 3B hole in a huge way. Choate is a very solid lefty BP arm. League had to be acquired in order for Victorino to happen so I get that. I'm frustrated with the rotation not being addressed. But you couldn't expect to fill all the holes in one deadline. Overall this gives me reason that the Dodgers will be right there battling it out for the West.
Overall, a good deadline. We did not get the SP we wanted but so be it. I think that through waivers we will grab someone making too much (Beckett). I also think we have internal options. I am hoping that Harang has that bullshit out of his system. I like our offense. Loney will continue to hit better as he will be moved back in the lineup. I am not sure Victornino shoudl be leading off.
Just remembered an article about last season in Philadelphia and how a measurement of offensive production influenced by base running dropped considerably after Lopes left. With Victorino being reunited with Lopes and a change of contract scenery he could be back to all star form.
I wasn't really stressing the need to get another SP. Our roto is second in the NL in ERA. I feel like one more bat at first base would put us to the top tho.
good deadline. mad probs to Ned for not caving and giving up Webster. Kevin Goldstein said that even if the Cubs added a piece it still would of been an overpay. sometimes not pulling the trigger is better longterm. we'll get Lilly back and he's better than Harang, slot him behind Cap. we'll see what happens before Aug 31st. TB, relax dawg haha
Which is exactly when FUCKFACE would have come out with all his great "Almost" moves to dupe people into the ballpark! Eat shit and die FUCKFACE!
