always despised berkeley had a gf there when i was at ucla all these rich entitled kids pretending to be homeless/depraved couple of good breakfast spots though... of course that was many years ago and way too close to homo city
Dropping my son off there on Friday. He’s starting the chemistry program for chemical engineering. What’s going on there? Haven’t found anything on guns in my searches?
Read today that YouTube, Facebook, Apple and Spotify are banning Alex Jones and InfoWars. Posting for informational purposes only!!
Some shady shit. I am the last person to talk about rights/freedoms because I dislike how folks always bring them up over stuff that just does not apply. It's like crying wolf or taking the lords name in vain. If you cry "Oh Lawd" over every little thing there will come a time where the lord might start outsourcing your calls to the Hindus. At college campuses that are funded through the government tax dole, it does apply though. Private companies can kick you out if they don't like what you have to say. ABC and NBC are private companies and the rights of free speech are protected there because ABC and NBC must use national airwaves. On the internet, media is going around this. But didn't Al Gore invent the internet? Ok, but still isn't the internet a DARPA project? And the obvious implications that the internet is the governments #1 way of getting their tax revenue back due to everyone confessing all of their deeds and misdeeds is not even where I'm coming from. Google broadcasts. Facebook Live and Google Live are broadcasting on broadband signals that are leased out by the government. They are de-facto government-sponsored media entities and are therefore subject to the right of free speech. The alt-right might be wannabe fascists, sure. The alt left is a real atheist, anarco-communists terror group with a history of violence. In the 60's the left liberals protested for free speech to talk against Vietnam at the same campus. Now they protest against free speech. Let's go back in time and remember what happens when communists hate something so strongly that they start calling it 'fascism'? Fascism is not an ideology. It is not thoughts. Fascism is a series of actions. It is deeds. When you 'fight' what you call fascist ideas with violence, terror, and mayhem you have just become the fascist. Because the guys who end up owning the term fascists are not the ones that started off being called that. It's the ones who kill the fascists. Or what do all the Trotskyites and Leninists in the crowd think is going to happen to them once the collective 'wins' and the Stalinists start looking for new victims in house?
Its not even about Alex Jones. Alex Jones could have been talked to in the 90's around the Waco incident and shown a bank account with $100M dollars in his name and all the propaganda avenues he could want to become the controlled opposition. You know the best way to catch a bunch of bad flies is to throw them a big piece of shit. They will flock to it and you can do with them as you wish and paint all flies with the same color of shit.
Off topic.. but the Astros beat us last year in game 7 but it is still ok the root for them when they play the vaGiants. Law of Greater Evils.
Hate the Astros more right now, without question. The Giants are an irrelevant, crappy baseball team.
So your saying it's not a good thing. Love the passion, don't love either alt side and I'm not that well versed in the isms so won't comment there. Beserkely to me is an outlier as they've always seemed to be and they relish the reputation but it's a TOTALLY wrong attitude and method. You cannot deny freedom to speak other than the caveats to even the biggest ass holes. BAD precedent. As for Jones that man hawks his shit products to raise money for his machine and I largely ignore that fuck but I cannot help thinking he could (without proof) be getting $ from Russia. Fuck him and I hope he chokes on a chicken bone. I know I wrote that my post was for informational purposes only but had to write this to you the most passionate of writers posters.
"I will not defend Alex Jones because I am a coward. When they come after my speech maybe I will speak up, maybe. But then someone will come around and silence me too. Alex Jones is the annoying canary in the coal mine when all you wanna do is dig up more coal. At least somebody shut up that canary from all its yapping."
very well said defending his right to say what he says does not mean you agree the whole hate speech thing is a fucking joke did you see where the splc co founder is being accused of propositioning his step daughter w a sex toy? no one gets to claim the high ground in this cesspool
whatev tubby your 15 minutes elapsed when frankie goes to hollywood was (still) relevant back then coke was the drug of choice, so that might explain their (alleged) drug-addled competition as fro the cast of friends... maybe didn't accept you because they simply didn't like you smelly cKat Kathleen Turner [now] claims that Michael Douglas, Jack Nicholson and Warren Beatty all competed over her by Emily Zauzmer | People Magazine — 8 hours ago Kathleen Turner says that Michael Douglas, Jack Nicholson, and Warren Beatty once competed to win her affections — and that none of them emerged victorious. In an interview with Vulture, Turner, 64, recalled, “You have to remember that my first big role was Body Heat, and after that I was a sexual target. I understood later, from Michael Douglas, that there was a competition between him and Jack Nicholson and Warren Beatty about who would get me first. None of them did, by the by.” Turner, who has nabbed two Golden Globe Awards, found success in the 1980s in movies like The Man with Two Brains and Romancing the Stone. Turner said that she bristled at the attention from Douglas, 73, Nicholson, 81, and Beatty, 81. “I don’t like being thought of as a trophy,” she explained. “Let me tell you, when Jack and I were shooting Prizzi’s Honor a bunch of us went to his place up on Mulholland [Drive]. Jack said, knowing Warren’s interest in me, ‘Why don’t you call Warren and tell him I don’t have a corkscrew.’ ‘Why?’ ‘You’ll see how fast he gets here.’ There was an unspoken assumption that women were property to be claimed.” Turner continued, “Another time I was at a dinner party and there was an empty chair next to Jack. I sat down in it and had a delightful time. After a while — because I was shooting the next day — I said I had to leave and drove back to the Chateau Marmont. I get there and the phone rings. It was Jack: ‘How could you do that to me?’ ‘Do what?’ ‘You were my date and you left!’ And I said, ‘I was your date? No one informed me.’ Assumptions like that are why I’ve never lived in Los Angeles. Every time I go to that city I feel insecure.” Turner is not the only famous actress to open up about warding off Beatty’s interest. Last month, Rosanna Arquette said on Watch What Happens Live that she turned Beatty down in the ’80s. “He’s very handsome, beautiful, but it just didn’t feel like it was for me,” Arquette commented. “But that was in the old, old days.” Elsewhere in the interview, Turner talked about feeling isolated by the cast of Friends when she played Chandler’s father. “I didn’t feel very welcomed by the cast,” she said. “The Friends actors were such a clique — but I don’t think my experience with them was unique. I think it was simply that they were such a tight little group that nobody from the outside mattered.”
It didn't last long, but in body Heat and Man With Two Brains, I would have made soup from her panties. Yes indeed, she was gorgeous then. Looking at her now...I know why she was cast as Chandler's father.
haha... love the soup from panties reference i used to go with the "i'd eat the raisins out of her shit" mantra but it's been a while
