- Verdugo is in the midst of a slump since the team traded his best friend 1-14 3 K's. There has been more talk lately that scouts feel he is going to be the real deal, but that the power may never come. - Rios is starting to look better after a slow start in AAA. OPS up to .832. - Buehler last start was the 31st, not on schedule through at least the 7th. Wonder if we are looking at the transition to the pen on the horizon as he is at 75.1 ip on the season. - Mitchell White is off to a solid AA start.
Yadier Alvarez pitched very well today but only pitched 4 innings due to a pitch count of 79. 4 innings, 3 hits, 1 earned, 2 walks and 8 K's. Jacob Scavuzzo with his 16th.
To say the least. He usually rights the ship so hopefully this doesn't deter them from using him in that role again. Since when did LoCastro get called up? He snuck in there on me lol. A-Gon 1 - 1 with 2 RBI hitting .500 Rob Segedin 2 - 4
yeah but like you said its the beginning of a transition gonna take a couple of outings to figure out tempo, warming up [quickly], pacing himself, etc didn't he have a poor start to begin his career too? wouldn't worry, the stuff is there
That is why I gave you a floor and a ceiling. And Reddick is putting up his regular good numbers vs righties now. Actually hitting lefties really well too, just not for power but for high average and OBP. Verdugo may be a high average/OBP guy with good defense and arm but only power against the types of pitchers he can take advantage of.
The fans in that corner of the field gave him hell everygame because they knew he was not here for the duration but just there to make the rest of the fanbase miss Puig.
Buehler threw again last night out of the pen. He went two innings, gave up 1 hit, 2 BB and K'd 1. I think I saw that he was hit hard, just right at folks. Will probably take some time for him to adjust. No word on his velocity

Good shit. Few thoughts: I wonder if Oaks will get some call up action next year. Our starting pitching depth is obviously crazy but maybe as a Ross Stripling/Brock Stewart role of bouncing around between spot starts, bullpen, and triple a. I'm incredibly excited at the idea of Verdugo and Puig in the same outfield. Have some hope that the catching tandem of the future is Will Smith+Ruiz, but obviously a long ways to go for that.
