Pretty impressive considering he hadn't played in 2 years. http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?sid=milb&player_id=628336#/career/R/hitting/2017/ALL
More depth! It's a good feeling to have multiple options at positions that were scarce for us in the past, like C and 2B.
Wilmer Font seems to be getting better and better. https://www.truebluela.com/2017/7/28/16048886/wilmer-font-oklahoma-city-dodgers-minor-league-report
After an 0 - 9 start upon being called up to the Great Lakes Loons Jeren Kendall has started to heat up. 3 - 9 with a triple and homerun in his last 2 games. From last night. Player of the day While Keibert Ruiz seems unstoppable as he had a 3-for-4 night (and extended his hitting streak to 10 games) and Alex Verdugo is trying to shake off a down July for him, today’s Player of the day is Starling Heredia for his 2-for-4 game with two doubles. Heredia (19) has hit in 10 of the last 11 games and has maintained his .400+ average from day one in Ogden and he will be starting for the Pioneer League in their All-Star game on Tuesday.
Those of you worrying that Logan won't be any good for us. I give you Errol Robinson, already up to this 3rd level this year alone. 2016 6th round pick, listed as a 2nd baseman but drafted as a SS so the nerds at it again with position versatility. http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?sid=milb&player_id=642021#/career/R/hitting/2017/ALL
With all these dudes we may not even need to make trades. Kyle Farmer first of the new class to be up and produce.
Probably works here too... So to recap the prospects dealt today from MLB.com #4 2B/LF/DH Willie Calhoun #69 in Top 100 #17 RHP AJ Alexy #21 SS/3B Oneil Cruz #27 3B/SS/2B Brendon Davis
did you see espn's statement earlier? am i misreading something? Give credit to the Yankees and Dodgers for acquiring two top starting pitchers without giving up any of their top-50 overall prospects.
Walker Buehler today. 5 innings, 0 earned, a walk and 6 strikeouts. More importantly than that was he threw 86 pitches which is a career high. I hope it continues an upward trend.
That's great but I thought he was going to be on a stricter pitch count to preserve him for the Dodgers pen, potentially through the postseason?
This is part of the process and program to get his stamina up. He's being groomed as a starter not a reliever but they want to give him a taste of the big leagues in September. Who knows if they stick to the plan with the recent additions.
Along with Drew Jackson and Johan Mieses who was previously on Tulsa but was demoted. Interesting tidbit is that DJ Peters wasn't which makes me wonder a bit but it could be just he's still young. http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?player_id=656847#/career/R/hitting/2017/ALL
Starling Heredia has been promoted AGAIN, this time to the Lo-A Great Lakes. His numbers took a nosedive after going from the AZL where he had an impressive line of .429/.500/.857 over 28 AB to the Pioneer League where it is obvious teams were able to adjust. His stat line in Ogden was a much weaker .427/.489/.732 with 4 HR's in 82 AB's. Hopefully he can figure out what went wrong in the MWL.
